Cassandra pulls away, takes a couple of steps back, out of Alec's reach. The drumming of her heart subsides, and a cold chill washes over her at the horrified, repentant glare in Cass's eyes.
"I'm sorry," she says, and Alec can't help but scowl. "Shouldn't have done that."
"Why not? You clearly wanted to."
"First you accuse me of using you to make Ezra jealous, now you're okay with it? I swear, Alec, I don't get you."
Alec approaches her again, hands laid softly over Cassandra's shoulders. "He doesn't deserve you. No, it's not even that, the two of you are just wrong."
"Are we? I love him, he loves me, how can that be wrong?"
