Letter Ten

Hi dad.

It's been three months, and the mailman just looks at me with sadness in his eyes every time he rings the bell and I open the door.

I have stopped opening the door because I can't look at the sadness he has for me in his eyes. It's tragic.

Mom cries silent tears, but now she lets me hug her while she cries. She hasn't told me the reason why, but I guess it's because she misses you a lot. I sleep in your room now, beside mom hugging her tight. Her eyes are always filled with tears, and sometimes it looks like she's not even present in the room. She's gotten so silent over these months. It's become real sad at home.

I don't know where you are and why you won't write back to me or call mom, but I hope everything's okay wherever you are and not just ignoring us.

We hope you come back.

Your Ann.
