Davidsons, Part 1

"Sweetheart, Vic's here to see you," Her brown eyes moved away from the television as she hit the mute button on the remote, and a smile appeared on her face when Vic's head popped up from behind the door.

"You look happy," Vic said, her eyes narrowed into slits with a teasing smile on her face. Anna blushed so lightly, thinking about the night at the roof. Her eyes had gleamed for the longest time after the heartache that kept thudding against her skin, burying the happiness six feet below.

"I'm happy," her left dimple deepened as she smiled, "I got your message that you are leaving today," the sadness in her voice was quiet yet unmissable.

"Yeah, classes will start from the day after tomorrow. Today will end up in unpacking and meeting people around the campus." Vic propped down on the hospital bed in front of Anna.
