Life Was Good Here

Qi Jing did not answer her immediately.

Instead, he raised his head and looked upstairs.

However, he could not see anything except the stairs and some of the corridor railings and walls upstairs.

He got up. "I'll eat now."

He walked to the dining room and sat down.

Then, he said to Aunt Song, "Get the kitchen to prepare some food to warm it up."

Aunt Song could barely maintain a calm attitude towards his abnormal reaction towards Xia Yunshu.

"Alright, Young Master Qi."

*

Xia Yunshu slept very soundly.

It was already early morning when she woke up.

The lights in the room were not completely switched off, and the gentle bedside lamp was still on, so she could clearly see where she was when she woke up.

Actually, it wasn't that she had no impression of her way back.

She was a little awake when Qi Jing carried her out of the car.

He carried her into the room, and she had a vague impression of him.

But after lying on the bed, she quickly fell asleep again.

She was probably too sleepy.

She didn't know when he left her room.

Thinking of this, she couldn't help but sighed.

Since she fell from the building at the age of 13, this was probably the least alert she had ever been.

Even when she was unconscious on the hospital bed and couldn't wake up, she was always tense and didn't dare to relax.

Later, Aunt Song had a female doctor come to apply medicine to her.

When they opened her door, she woke up even though they came in quietly.

However, she did not open her eyes.

It was not until they had applied medicine to her and bandaged her feet and left her room that she fell into a deep sleep again.

She slept until now.

She was a little hungry.

She should be.

She only had breakfast in the morning and had not eaten anything else for the whole day.

She was prepared to go down and find something to eat.

She flipped open the blanket and saw her feet covered in gauze.

She felt a little conflicted.

Did it hurt when her feet were scratched by the stone sand?

It shouldn't.

Otherwise, she would have realised it before Qi Jing found her.

However, now that the doctor had applied the medicine and bandaged her feet, she actually felt a little pain.

She sat on the bed and stared at her bandaged feet for a while before getting out of bed.

There was a pair of thick cotton slippers placed beside the bed.

Yu City was still a little hot at the end of summer, so she won't need cotton slippers.

The purpose of placing a pair of cotton slippers here...

Xia Yunshu looked at her feet, which were bandaged with gauze.

It wasn't difficult to guess.

She put on the slippers.

She opened the door and found that the lights in the corridor were still on.

Not only the corridor, but also the stairs, the living room, the dining room, and even the kitchen.

There was clearly no one there.

She went to the kitchen and warmed the porridge and vegetables in the pot.

Aunt Song was indeed reliable.

She was a little envious that Qi Jing had a reliable housekeeper like her.

She also knew that Aunt Song could order the kitchen to warm the food, but without permission, she would not keep the lights on all the time.

It was obvious who meant it.

She ate a lot in this joyous mood.

She was not tired anymore after sleeping for such a long time.

However, she did not stay on the first floor and went back to her room.

She took a book and was about to go to the balcony while enjoying the night breeze.

She was about to switch on the balcony lights when she suddenly stopped and looked upstairs.

She had never been to the third floor, but judging from the layout of the villa, the third floor should be decorated similarly to the second floor.

Directly above should be Qi Jing's room.

In the middle of the night, she only turned on the balcony light as she was afraid that it would affect his sleep.

In the end, she did not turn on the balcony light either.

She put down the book, took out a portable laptop from her suitcase, and carried it to the balcony.

She leaned against the hanging chair on the balcony, opened the laptop and put it on her lap.

The computer's screen displayed a special web page.

The front page had the words "The Tyrants" written on it.

Even though she had something to do when she returned to China, the current situation didn't go as planned and she didn't plan to go back so soon.

She felt that it was quite good to stay here.

She planned to stay here a little longer.

Since she was returning back to China under the pretext of studying, she definitely had to go to school.

In school, she didn't seem to have anything else to learn aside from "Chinese".

How boring would it be if she only focused on studying it?

It would be better to earn some money at the same time.

She went to the website to see if anyone in Yu City posted any tasks.
