Chapter two:
Loopholes.
Earlier, after they had gotten to the house Becca had challenged Bobby to speak the truth! He told her who her real parents were. He told her that her biological parents had died three years after she was born. They had tragically died in a car explosion after a head-on collision with a tanker truck. Thankfully, she had been with him. He said that he, Bobby Sandals, was her mother's brother. He told her she was a werewolf.
"You're not my father?" Becca asked, feeling stunned. They were both seated on the couch in the living room.
"No. I'm your uncle. I'm so sorry for lying to you all these years," Bobby said, however he wasn't sorry. Bobby was in fact feeling weary that his plan to keep the truth buried had failed.
"You shouldn't feel sorry for protecting me and raising me as your own," Becca said, with her voice sounding compassionate. "However, from now no more lies."
Bobby leaned towards her and gave her a hug.
"Sure no more lies," he said, feeling guilty. He still hadn't learned his lesson. First his plan to protect Becca from her identity had failed. Now he felt he still had it a duty to protect Becca from facing rejection.
"So dad, were you meeting with members from your pack when you said that those gangsters might come?" Becca said, after they broke off the embrace.
"No. You see Becca we were cursed to be half blooded werewolves," Bobby said.
"What does that mean?" Becca said.
Bobby prepared himself to explain it to her by taking in a deep breath and exhaling loudly before saying, "Every blood moon, which rarely occurred, the moon goddess would appear in the forest. She would come to meet with her alpha. The werewolves would cower into hiding and transformation was forbidden during a blood moon.
"However, many moons ago and on the last particular blood moon to occur, the alpha of our pack transformed. This was to see if he could defeat the moon goddess mate. A bold and yet stupid move. He was thoroughly eliminated and as for the rest of us in the pack, we were cursed into becoming HB depriving us of our full abilities."Bobby also explained what it meant for them to be half blood and answered why they lacked a pack.
What he hadn't told her yet was that her father Levi White had been a PB werewolf. He didn't tell her that it was only her mother Hazel who had been a HB. Also, he failed to mention how her mother had met her father.
His sister Hazel had felt drawn to Levi as his mate. She pushed aside the thoughts of rejection and went for him. He took only one look at her and he fell in love with her. Due to his alpha status he wasn't challenged to pick his mate. He welcomed Hazel into his pack. However, even as the alpha he couldn't help her brother. The pack could rebel against him if he did that. Bobby had to be shown affection from a distance. Hazel had been received into the pack. Though she was Luna she was always careful not to overstep her bounds.
The greatest loophole in his explanation that he was not revealing to his Becca lied in the fact that Becca had a twin sister called Bella who was taken away from him.
He had believed then that both twins were HB. Time passed and time meant weeks and months where it would seem like both twins had inherited the curse. Then one day, members of Levi's pack came to claim Bella, announcing that she was a PB. With enough rest and confirmation, Bobby didn't protest this. He let them take her to be raised differently for who she was, a PB werewolf. He swore to keep the twin sister, Becca, separated from the truth. He didn't want her to face rejection by going to look for her sister.
Bobby was strong but not strong enough to do anything reckless like challenging the PB werewolves. Becca was to live her life as a human child for as long as she could. He had lived like a human, lived amongst them and was hoping one day he would find a way to break the curse.
Hazel had been the one closest to breaking the curse. She had found an alpha who accepted her. The curse was growing weaker. She had also produced a PB werewolf child. The only cursed ones that remained were Becca and himself. They would have to leave with their curse. He placed the fate of his former pack legacy in Bella. She would one day like her mother find her mate and if he was an alpha she would become Luna.
Becca had a lot more questions but her uncle assured her that it would be better not to learn everything in one day only to forget some of it the next day. Also because werewolf meant different things in different stories he told her not to bother checking the internet as if she would listen.
The internet had been the first place Becca had gone to when she went into her actual bedroom, not the one her uncle used to deceive her. She learned about half-blood but that was entirely different from what her uncle had explained. The moon goddess had no reference of coming down to mate. However, she learned that the moon goddess could bless or curse her wolves. So there were similarities and differences. The transformation part had been a bit sketchy and she needed her uncle for that.
She scrolled through the article and found a part about mates. Everything it talked about was what had been happening to her. Her constant nightmare, the male figure appearance, the voices, her wet dreams, all of it that had her worrying had been explained under the 'Mate' section and she shook her head at her new realization.
***
Alpha Jared was well built, handsome, confident and domineering. He had a pack consisting of his Luna and eight other werewolves. The eight other werewolves consisted of five males and three females. Jared was seated on a wooden throne while Bella the Luna queen was seated on his lap. Together they watched as some of the other werewolves were engaged in remodeling their tree home. The remaining four, two males and females, were sparring.
"I've felt off lately," Bella said, while stroking on Jared beard.
"What's it about?" Jared asked, his voice slightly reverberated as he spoke.
"I don't know. Just feeling like something is about to happen. Last night I felt a strong connection to someone?"
"That's impossible we are mated," Jared sit up, sounding confident.
"Not that type of connection, this was different."
"Hmm," Jared drew in a breath. "Whatever it was, do you still feel it now?"
"No, the feeling has been down since this morning-"
Just then a guy swaggered down their way. His name was Hunter and he was the closest friend of Jared. "Are we still going to the peace treaty with the other packs?"
At this time a war was brewing about which pack controlled the largest territory of the forest. They were also becoming overpopulated and food supply was greatly shortening.
"Yeah we should head out right away," Jared said. "Tell Ziva that she's coming along. The others will stay behind to secure our home."
As Bella stood up her ass swayed in front of Jared's face. He spanked her and she giggled. She was extremely beautiful. She was a strict Luna and the other werewolves dared not cross her path. She was only this playful around Jared.
"Ziva!" Bella barked. "Get your ass over here and come assist me with my stuff."
Ziva, who had been part of those helping to rebuild, dropped down the wood she was carrying. Immediately, she went and joined Bella at the first order. She was beautiful, smart and a skillful warrior. She silently resented the Luna queen like the rest of the pack did for her, Bella was used to commanding them like they were children, she was so bossy and tasking. She carried Bella's bag and walked snuggly behind them.
Just at a far distant corner, Bobby had left Becca in order to fulfil his mission from last night. He knew the aloha's of the different packs were going to have a meeting and so he had strategically placed himself in a corner of the forest for an artful spying. Bella, his niece, will be in attendance. He very much still cared for her. She wasn't in any danger but he had been curious how her life was turning out to be. She was, after all, the girl who had escaped the curse of the moon goddess.
The member's of Bella's father pack were still alive and Bella being mated to an alpha in another pack had left her father's pack to join Jared. Together, they had built a formidable pack no doubt capable of challenging any rivals. Assuming the war broke out, Bobby thought, he would not even have this portion of the forest to call his territory. He was going to assist Becca in harnessing her wolf's abilities once he returned to his house.
