In the end we didn't go to another zoo or a theme park, let alone a water park. Instead, Jacob took me to a concert in Tel-Aviv. We had to wear some of our best clothes, as did everyone else in the audience, although I never stopped being surprised at how revealing the women's clothes here were, even the ones that were considered elegant. At the entrance we were told to turn off our phones and remain absolutely silent throughout the performance.

The music was exquisite, entrancing me and making me feel as if my soul was being elevated, until a phone rang. The man who was standing in front of the musicians and guiding their performance angrily slammed his wand against his podium and turned to shout at the offender. When the ringing stopped, the leader took several moments to calm himself before turning back and signaling the musicians to resume playing. After that there were no more interruptions.
