Arriving at the Capital

JACOB

As we approached the capital, the towns we passed through grew bigger, and the traffic on the roads increased. There was still a feeling of unreality to everything, despite all the months that I spent in it, deep down I still couldn't fully believe that I was in another world. The strongest sense of unreality came from seeing all the beast-kin around me. I was already used to Vivian, but seeing all the other people with inhuman eyes, ears, tails, teeth, fur, and snouts made me feel like I was hallucinating, or that I was in some kind of virtual reality simulation.
