Reporting Suspicion

VIVIAN

I woke up late in the morning to find Jacob waiting for me with a full breakfast arranged on my nightstand. I slowly pulled myself up into a sitting position.

"Thanks, but you didn't have to do this. What about class?" I said.

"It can wait. My wife is more important." There was tenderness in Jacob's eyes when he looked at me.

"It's really nothing. In the past I got through much worse."

Jacob frowned.

"You shouldn't have to deal with it alone. No, it shouldn't have happened in the first place. I'm really sorry I left you behind last night. Somehow when I finished work I thought you were waiting for me at home. I only remembered that you went to visit Nila after the driver already dropped me off."
