The boy in the box

This time we will talk about "THE BOY IN THE BOX" , a case that emerged in 1957 when they found a child aged 3 or 7 years old inside a box dead.

It all started in February 1957, when a young hunter went to check his plots, located near a park in Philadelphia, while checking them he found a small cardboard box on the ground with the body of a naked child inside covered with a blanket, the young man did not call the police but rather walked away so that the police would not confiscate his traps.

Days later a young university student was in those streets when he saw a rabbit eating and decided to see if the rabbit was alright since there were many traps in the forest, while he saw that there were no traps he found the box and decided to report the body.

The child was between the ages of 3 to 7 years old, the police hoped to identify him, until they saw him and their hope faded, they already noticed that a family was looking for a healthy, well-cared and loved child but it was not the child in the box anymore that he was skinny, dirty and completely malnourished so that was not the boy.

His hair was as if it had been recently cut, his body was very malnourished and had surgical scars that also included his ankle, groin and chin, the police decided to take his fingerprint to see if there were any matches, but they found nothing.

The police sent more than 400k flyers to all of Philadelphia, while the doctors did a facial reconstruction and they pasted photos of the child everywhere but nobody reported it, nor did they speak.

The crime scene was checked several times, but they only found the child's clothes which is not a clue, today the identity of the child is a mystery, but several theories emerged; In 1960 a psychic mentioned that a child in the box had a foster home when the policeman asked about the child they saw that there were blankets similar to the child's hanging on a clothesline as well as a bassinet that was sold in the same box where the child was.

The employee made the theory that the child died accidentally, but 40 years later another more shocking theory was created, A woman known as "M" claimed that the child was physically abused for years, she also claimed that after the child vomited dinner of baked beans, his mother as punishment hit him hard on the head and after trying to bathe him he died. The police decided to follow the clues since the boy had remains of beans in his stomach and wrinkled fingers as if he had been in the water for a long time.

They were also concerned about the description of M as she said he was a small boy with long hair which is consistent with the hint that he recently had his hair cut, as another witness claimed to see the box being put in the woods.

The police let M's clues pass because in his background it appeared that she had a mental illness and the neighbors confirmed that they did not see any child in the house that M was talking about.

But the mystery of "The unknown American child" may remain unsolved forever.

What do you think about all this? Unfortunately, it is one of the saddest cases in history. There is still a little hope that it will be resolved and the child will finally be identified.

I think this story can stay like this for years or maybe forever, what is your theory?
