General Livius thought it would make sense for him to tell her. 'After all, she is here to help us and the Kingdom.' He had thought in his mind.
"There is? How? Or should I say, why do you think there is a spy here?" General Cyan asked them. Her face went back to being stoic, holding no expression. "There was an attack on one of the soldiers. He was shot by an arrow from Mocris." King Richard explained. They still had not found out who had shot that arrow at Soldier Steve. They were unable to finish questioning that girl.
General Cyan was quiet for a while and she seemed to be in deep thought. And then, her face suddenly morphed into a frown. "So what you are trying to tell me is that there is a spy in this very palace that is capable of killing? And yet, you threw a party in here. Are you people crazy? You just risked hundreds of people's lives. These are rulers of the Kingdoms, though small Kingdoms but still you trade with them. If anything bad should have happened to them, you do know what will happen to you, right? Why are you behaving like morons? I do not mean to insult you but the way you people behave just makes no sense." General Cyan said as she got annoyed.
She wondered how those who claim to be rulers behave in a short-sighted manner. It is as if they do not look deep into the future and what their actions may cause them, the Kingdom, and the whole people of the Kingdom at large. Their actions are selfish and self-centered.
Dherek could sense how annoyed his General was. 'Even if a trap is been set in place for you, are you supposed to walk into that trap without hesitation?' He thought.
He was amused with this King and those who assist him to rule the Kingdom. How silly could they be? He had a feeling that it would not be so hard to deal greatly with these people. Just look at the mistakes they were making already without having made a move on them yet.
But what he could not understand was why his General, Cyan, was helping them in correcting their errors.
"Oh, we did not have that in mind. It would have been very bad if those Kings and Queens end up being harmed in this place." King Richard said.
"Or be killed even," Dherek added to King Richard's words.
Both King Richard and General Livius were terrified and they saw the huge blunder in their actions. It would have spelled doom for them had anything happened to those guests. 'This is all Rita's fault. I didn't want to throw the parties anymore.' Richard thought and he got even angrier with Rita.
"Aside from that, it makes no sense to be throwing parties when there is an incoming crisis. Look now, the resources that you used in throwing parties could have been used to acquire ammunition." General Cyan said, advising them again.
General Cyan sighed deeply as she closed her eyes for a little while before opening them back.
"As much as I feel annoyed and irritated by the things you do, I will still help you." She said to them calmly. Her face was back to having no emotions shown on it.
"Have you figured out who the spy is or is there someone that you suspect to be the spy?" She asked them.
"Yes. There is. " General Livius responded. "Who?" General Cyan then asked. "One of the maids." He also replied.
"Okay. So this is what will happen. Call all the maids and guards and make them gather together. We shall conduct a search on them all in the presence of all royals staying here. For all we know, your suspicion might be just wrong." She instructed. She has no belief in their suspicion whatsoever.
From the way, they were behaving and the things they were doing since she got here, it would be stupid of her to believe or value what they say.
King Richard called one of the guards standing outside and instructed him to carry out General Cyan's words. "Make all the maids gather and the guards also." He said to him.
The guard bowed down to King Richard. He was about to go when General Cyan stopped him. "The soldier that was struck by an arrow from Mocris... you know him, don't you?" General Cyan asked the guard who was about to leave.
The guard nodded his head in affirmation at the question that she directed at him. "Good. Get him to come to this palace also." She said and the guard nodded his head at her. He bowed down to her also and then left.
...
The maids were all doing one work or the other when the order from the King got to them. They were told to gather together. All of them.
"The King has ordered us all to gather together. He wishes to see us. All of you, leave the work that you are doing and let us carry out His Highness's order and gather ourselves in his presence." Mena said to them. Yoddal heard this and was troubled in her heart. She was a maid in this place. What if her brother saw her? That would not turn out well. She could only pray that he would not come out.
But it was quite unusual for an order like this to come out and even the guests in the palace would not come out. Something similar to this had happened back in her home.
All of the maids were called together to question them. And those concerned and even the ones not concerned about the matter were present there.
It would be a miracle that her brother would not be present. But, her brother was the type that does not concern or rather still, does not bother himself with issues of other Kingdoms.
She could only hope and pray.
