Beginning the hunt

They headed toward the exit of the city, and I noticed they walls of the city were decorated with our emblem they were clean white metal and gold watch stations. It gave they whole city a majestic feeling when going under it.

'Wow the more of the city I see the more city feels like it belongs to my family. this gives me a new sense of honor and importance of my emblem and family'

As we passed the gate my father spoke in a serious tone "I will tell you now. I will let you hunt on your own, I will reward you for every creature you hunt, I will take you to a place in under our control, I will welcome you back with open arms, and I will love you for the rest of my life. However, I will not give you any aid or offer any assistance, I will not watch over you, I will not tell you to come back, and I will not rescue you if you're in danger. If you're my son, you will not die and you will return and after you come back you will be allowed to leave again at any time. Do you understand."

"Yes, father and I thank you for this chance to prove myself." Cain said with strength and determination showing in his voice. " Good, I'm glad I raised such a genius." Cormaxium said and explained the beast tiers to his son. "The beasts will fight out here are stronger than humans because they develop cores on birth. These cores are different for each species and humans don't create them until the meet a certain threshold. We get them when we reach the 1-star human. Beasts have different tiers call classes; it goes from weakest to strongest. Basic, Advanced, Master, Sacred, and Divine. You most likely won't meet any creature stronger than a master around here. But be careful that doesn't mean master-class creatures are weak then can easily kill you with one hit. The cores of creatures can be used to make different thing from potions to weapons and most cores are sphere shaped but rare and stronger creatures have weirdly shaped cores. Lastly be careful of dimensional cracks. Most are managed but some can be undetected and those very dangerous if you fall in a crack, it will be hard to find your way out." Cormaxium gave a long explanation to make sure I was ready.

"Thank you for telling me father." Cain said as they reached a stop, they were in the middle of a forest, but the trees were blue with light blue leaves. The grass and bushes had the same of similar blue color as the leaves. It gave the forest a beautiful blue glow of life.

"This is called the frozen forest; this is our territory so have fun son." Cormaxium said as he opened the door and I got out. He waved me goodbye, and I could swear I seen a single tear appear from under his monocle. "I will and I will live." I said and waved back as the doors closed. The vehicle lifted up above the trees and blasted away. I switched to my armor and put the suit in a storage ring my father gave me. Then I took off in the opposite direction my father went.

This is where the memories of my past and my system came into play. I had been rewatching my memories every time I slept and practicing them to the beast of my abilities so although I no longer had the legendary ravaging hunter set, I could imitate the skill to a certain degree. Now was my chance to put it into practice.

I started with a short run through the forest while trying to move across trees and nature like my first life. I reached a lone giant rat that was the size of a medium sized dog standing 2 and a half feet. It had sharp claws and sharper teeth; its eyes were also a beady red. I jumped to the tree nearest to it, but it heard and turned to look at me.

I quickly jumped down trying to skewer it with my glaive, but it jumped making me leave a deep gash from its eye to chest. It squealed out in pain, then leaped forward to bite me. I quickly lifted my glaive from the ground and ran it through the rat. It squealed again as the light left its eyes.

Another jumped on my back before I had time to celebrate, and I roared in pain as it started scratching me, so I quickly rammed my back against the nearby tree crushing the rodent enough for it to fall off.

That wasn't the last of them though as four more rats popped out of the bushes and ground. The rat in the middle had a furry tail and was bigger than the others. I should assume it's an Advanced creature that's leading a pack.

'I should be fine with these weapons and armor, right?'

He didn't have time to prepare as the three weaker ones came at once. I split the head of the one in the middle, the quickly turned and hit the right one with the pummel of the glaive and sent it into the one on the left causing them both to hit a tree. it also left a bad cut on the former killing it.

I spun my body to send the glaive into the advanced rat, but it dodged, and my glaive hit the ground, it took advantage and rammed its head into my chest. Throwing me apart from my glaive. I used the momentum to throw an uppercut at the rat throwing it back it was able to scratch my arms with its back legs.

It tore through the mana skin in that spot leaving slight scratches, weird thing was the blood didn't bleed instead it froze and made my arm feel cold.

The creature hit the ground, and immediately started running at me. I got sick of just attacking with my glaive. So, I created ten bolts of fire, to immobilize the beast. two misses but the rest hit but they pierced the beast's legs and body. The giant rodent slowed down with blood pouring from its wounds. But it still moved forward as its blood quickly halted pouring. It went to scratch my leg, but I sent a kick with stone in front and around it, at the rats' head causing its neck to snap.

'So, this wasn't even a different tier just a different breed, but why was this rat with its species'

'Wait could this rat pack be a bait.'
