Lena

There's nothing to do. There's no one to talk to. This village is basically at its end all those who live here are mostly elderly or women most of the men left to work at the capital so that they could provide for their families here, But is that the same for me too? I've been alone for as long as I can remember owning nothing to myself but this little house. No that was a lie. I can think of someone but all I can think of is a silhouette I cant remember there face, or voice, but I know they were there the reason I'm alive right now is because of them are they the same? have they also left so that they could provide me with my needs? If so where are they? the last time I can remember them was so long ago it almost feels like a dream.

I go back to thinking about nothing until I'm interrupted by a knock at the door. usually I'm visited once a day for my share of food but it's still too early for that right now so I get surprised by the sudden visit. When I open the door its one of the women who lives next door as soon as I open the door she looks at me with a gentle smile on her face. "Hello Lena it's been a while haha...." she says while I look at her unresponsive she then sighs and continues "I know we don't have the best relationship but at least bare with me here Lena, it's your thirteenth birthday come on now cheer up!!!!" she says enthusiastically I smile a little to entertain her she sighs again seeing through me. "Well anyway here have this" she says while handing me a bundle of papers with a lot of writing on them. "It's something a someone trusted me with they said they wanted me to give you it on your thirteenth birthday, don't worry I haven't read through it they were very passionate about it so I would feel bad." after hearing her explanation my heart almost skips a beat (is this them?) I ask myself (is this the person I've been trying my best to remember?) without realizing it there is a little smile on my face that the village responds to with a smile of her own. "well if you would like you can join me and my kid for dinner today" she says gently "I will think about it thank you very much" I reply. she pats my head then leaves while waving her hand.

I quickly close the door and sit down at the table with one chair then start preparing myself to read this. I'm scared of its content what could a person who's been away for god knows how long want to tell me now? I slowly begin reading. "Hello Lena, It's been a while well if you are reading this then I guess its been way more than a while. Anyway I'm writing this incase I don't come back so I do wish you never get to read this and that I make it back home, but not everything goes according to plan you know.. I should stop blabbering on on I will be writing this gift one time only and changing nothing about it since I want there to be as much evidence of my existence as possible and I would like it to be true myself so please bare with me Lena. The point of this is to tell you about your parents Lena I believe everyone has the right to know about their parents and if I'm not there then I want to at least be the one telling u it even if its indirectly. Now lets see where do I begin. Lets start with your dad, He was a great man, A man you can look up to with pride Lena someone you should be proud of even if he isn't there for you. He used to be an adventurer, a strong one at that. with the help of his party, by the way I'm one his party members, he had taken down many monsters and made a name for himself. One day he went on a random expedition that was quite far from where we usually operated it was around a 4 day carriage ride from the capital it was supposed to be a normal dungeon hunt but he had messed up at some point and got himself injured heavily. He barely made it out and fell unconscious somewhere near a lake that was a bit far from the dungeon. When he woke up he found himself in an unfamiliar place. After looking around that place for a bit someone entered, It was a beautiful young woman with long brown hair and lime green eyes. That would be your mother Lena.

Unlike your father, your mother was a normal person someone who lived a normal life in the countryside alongside her parents and never asked for more. apparently while going to wash her clothes at the lake rather than the river she saw your father unconscious and dragged him back home with her where her father treated him. he had been sleeping for quite a while almost 5 hours since she found him. He explained his situation to her and she started worrying about him. After he had fully recovered he decided it was to leave the family alone and promised your mother that he would come back to repay the favor. Cut 5 months later and your father has become a regular in the village its like he basically lives there now. He would always stay at your mothers place and she would welcome him wide open arms she truly enjoyed listening to all his adventuring stories although it made her worry for his safety. 2 months after that your father finally built up the courage and confessed his feeling to her. She replied positively. A month after that they got married.

After getting married your father finally decided to build a house in the village your mother lived in and to leave the adventuring stuff to the side. We as his party fully supported him and wished him all the happiness we would visit him from time to time and believe me you couldn't even imagine how happy they were with each other it made me feel real jealous you know!!!! 4 months after their marriage your mother got pregnant with you, your parents were overjoyed finally they will become parents. Your dad would tell everyone he ever met after that about your mother pregnancy and how his child will grow to become someone everyone will be proud of, while your mother cared for you in her own way, But not every story has a happy ending you know."
