chapter twenty four

We marched out dancing in an uniform step to the stage and as soon as we reached the stage, we changed the dancing step and everyone started clapping. Many people come out with their phones to take video of us including uncle Haroon,Habiba and most of my family members.

We wanted to carry out our practiced dance but the stage got overcrowded.

Maya annoyingly walked to the mc and told him something. She came back and stood in her position

"Hey everyone, pls step back and let's see what these ladies and gents have to do for us. Pls step away." The mc announced through the speaker and teachers stood up to control the crowd.

Few minutes later, we were left alone and the song started. We started displaying our impressive dancing steps

I knew the dance was so impressive because like,everyday, we do rehearsals by ourselves.

I was already sweating and tired when the last step is about to be done

Hey,get your ass together and finish this up. If you get tired and ruin a single thing now,that means all of your struggles are in vain. Better summon the energy left in you and do this. You can rest later. My subconscious encouraged me and I got my energy back

I climbed the back of my other classmates and we formed a pyramid or triangle of a kind

My leg was shaking as I climbed the top. I stayed for some minutes returning my breath when my classmates shouts "come on Khair" and that's when I remembered I have a big finish to do.

I prayed silently for my bones not to break because of the risky thing I'm about to do.

I dropped the flag and bent down a little to hold my knees. I jumped and did several back flips before landing on the ground.

The cheers of the people has completely surpass the music.

Nine others did back flips also after me and landing on the ground. We arranged ourselves showing our backs to the camera as the writing on our shirts reads' SSS THREE GRADUANDS 2021'

The cheers got very very louder and I spot uncle Haroon's eyes and nose wide opened.

Everyone stood up from their seats and rushed to us shouting. They started spraying us money and I felt proud of myself

"Wow!wow!!wooow!!!. This is very incredible. I have never seen anything like this. Pls give these amazing students a round of applause" the mc shouted through the speaker as everyone clapped.

We went to our seats catching back our breaths as Habiba speed walked towards me and Maya

"OMG,wow,how did you guys do that?Khair, you did fabulously wonderful. I'm proud of you two. Now tell me how you all plan these things" Habiba said hyperventilating.

"Calm down girl. We actually told no one about this whole thing. I came up with the idea of wearing the same outfit then you know Ibrahim right?,he said we should do something amazing,Khair asked like what and Ibrahim said we should dance,an extraordinary dance. He showed us the video on his phone and we were like what the freaking hell,we can't do this. He said we can do it and Khair would be the one to hold the flag,I wish you would see Khair's expression that time. She was like😱" Maya explained to Habiba laughing

"Pls its okay. From there,we said we should give it a try and we started practicing and woah-la!we did it." I finished the story for Habiba who was now giving us full attention

"Yeah and about the clothing, we contributed 5k for the whole thing. We gathered the money and it was 105k,that's how we bought the shirts,the jeans and the sneakers. We are amazing right?" Maya completed with a foolish smile

"You guys are incredible. I think you should perform on America got talent cos you guys are talented,especially you Khair, ok I'm going to do something now bye" Habiba said giving me a hug and walked away to God knows where.

We went to change our clothes back and the celebration continued. Plenty people went home before four o'clock leaving only the students behind.

Maya and I went to Habiba's car to get the gifts we bought for the teachers as farewell gift.

We gave them,they were so happy and they prayed for us. The school dismissed and everyone went home not before me and my classmates discussing our plans tonight again

Habiba dropped me at my house and she said she would pick me up by seven.

I greeted everyone and the mini walima they organised for me started.

I bathed and changed into a comfortable clothes. It doesn't take up to 2hours and the walima ended.

Some people have already left my house remaining just very few of my family members.

"Fadila be fast and do this,time is gone already" I complained to my cousin who was doing my makeup.

"Stop shouting pls. Remain just few touches... Anddddd done" she said smiling at me looking proud of her job

"Ok thank you so much. I have told uncle Haroon to bring all of you to that place and pls dress nicely,especially you Safina,whenever you have to look fine that's when you will be putting rags as cloth" I said pointing to one of my cousin and they all laughed while Safina threw my bag at me pouting

My phone rang and it was Maya.

"Hel...." I started saying but interrupted by Maya

"Oh my God, come out fast,we are waiting and its like your uncle is already coming toward us. OMG I'm going to faint" Maya whispered loudly and she hung up

"Ok girls, I'm going. For the last time,how do I look?" I asked holding my purple gown I bought with Maya three days ago.

"Wallahi you look so fine, especially the makeup" Fadila complimented,more to herself

"You look wow,but don't worry, I will look wower than you" Safina joked and we laughed

"I will look wowest" Mufida said and now, there madness have start

"Oh my God, bye everyone then" I said rushing out before they stop me again

I went to my mum,dad and others,told them goodbye and finally left

As soon as I went out,I saw uncle Haroon two steps away from Habiba's car while Maya was over blushing already.

"Hey bro,i got no time to waste,move out of my way,don't forget to bring Safina and co. If you like come with your friends also,and come early cos the show is starting in 20minutes. Well ok byeeeee" I talked so fast that I ran out of breath

"Chillax sis,no goodbye hug?" He said not minding the fact that I'm late.

I hissed and gave him a small hug and then entering into the car. I didn't even get to close the door well when the car started moving

"Ahh Habiba, drive slowly,I haven't close the door well" I said trying to close it

"As if it is me that is driving" she replied

"If not you then who is?" I asked finally looking up

"Maya?!you are driving? How?when did you learn how to drive?" I asked surprised

"I knew how to drive since last year. Didn't I told you?" She asked also

"Nop you didn't"

"Ok forget, now I have told you"she said driving with speed.

"Like finally, we have been waiting" Emmanuel exclaimed sighing

"Ok ok we are here. Where is Ibrahim?" Maya asked

"Let me call him" Emmanuel said leaving the place.

The hall was already very full of teens and some adults. We were the only people standing outside waiting to be called inside

"He's coming already" Emmanuel said when he got back,then a man came out of the hall

"Ok,you people can start entering inside immediately you hear the music" the man said and left.

Before a minute,the music started and we arranged ourselves in pairs.

Maya was the only one without a pair and she was in the front to do her showcase or whatever

I was at the end without a pair when Ibrahim walked towards me

Oh Lord!

"Hey babe, you look gorgeous" he complimented

Babe??!!

Let me forget about that and focus on my happy day. Like,anyone can call you babe without it meaning another thing right?

As I was busy thinking, the line has already started moving forward.

"Let's get in babe" Ibrahim said holding my hand and then flashes of cameras were everywhere

Holy cheese!
