chapter twenty five

I snatched my hand from his gentle grip and he chuckled

We walked inside and sat down close to Maya. Fadila walked towards me with the other girls trailing behind her.

"Welcome" I said to them smiling hard. I introduced them to Maya and she gave them a smile which they returned back with a wave.

After a while,they went back to their seats

"Let's go and take group pictures" Joseph said and we got up and moved to where bunch of cameramen were standing.

We snapped a lot of pics,some decent and some crazy. After that,everybody scattered from that place

"Let's go find Habiba" I said to Maya

"Ok" she said holding my hand and we moved in the small crowd to find Habiba

"Hey ladies" uncle Haroon greeted as he appeared in front of us. Maya's grip on my hand tighten as uncle Haroon kept looking at her

"Hey bro,you finally came" I said trying to break the almost awkward moment

"Yeah what did you think?" He said casually now looking at me

"I..." I started but got interrupted by uncle Haroon

"By the way,you look hot" he said looking at the both of us

"Aww,thank you" I said smiling bowing down a little holding my dress in a princess manner

"Not you" uncle Haroon replied smiling at Maya who now look like she could melt

"Huh,thank you" Maya replied with beetroot cheeks.

"Have you guys take pictures, not in group,I mean like single pic?" Uncle Haroon asked directly facing to Maya

"No" she replied looking down as if she's talking to her fiance

"Come on let's go take one" he said holding his hands to Maya and she slide her hand in his shyly

"Ok stay well now" the cameraman said to me focusing his camera

"Pose for me babe" uncle Haroon said to Maya as she posed

"Wow" he uttered as the camera clicks

"Pls stop this rubbish talk and go away" I said starting to get annoyed

"Ok bye" he said looking at his watch like a businessman and walking away

......

After two hours of eating,drinking,dancing and having so much phone,we later went home.

Maya asked me to come to her house early in the morning cos she wants me to witness the great gift her dad wants to give her.

"I'm so damn tired" I groaned as I lied down flat on my bed.

"Khair,have you prayed isha'i?" My mum asked as soon as she entered my room and I said no

"Come on stand up and go and pray before you forget. Don't let me come and meet you still laying like a Python on that bed" she scolded and left.

I went to the toilet, showered and performed ablution. I prayed and went to the kitchen to look for my cousins

Where are they?

I found uncle Haroon's phone on the kitchen cabinet. A message popped in reading 'hi' by unknown number

This number looked somehow familiar. I tried to unlock the phone but I don't know his password. Damn it

The house is strangely quiet. I went to the backyard and here they are sitting on the mat eating whatever

I greeted them and joined them. We talked about everything and nothing till we got tired and went to bed

Its so nice to be with your families together.

I retired back to my room and I didn't know I was this tired till I lied on my bed and letting the exhaustion get off me.

...

"Stupid alarm" I shouted as I reached for my phone to off the annoying alarm. I kept it and started sleeping again

I heard continuous  knocking on my door and I tried to ignore but the idiot person wouldn't let me be

"Its opened" I shouted not opening my eyes.

"Sleeping beauty,stand up its subhi time and you have Maya's house to go today" Safina shouted bouncing on my bed

"Can you pls stop and allow me to rest for 20seconds?" I requested hoping she would allow me

"No get up" she shouted again but this time in my ear

"Wallahi you know I can kill you" I said getting up and she took off with speed.

"If I catch you,just keep in mind that you are a roasted tuna fish. Idiot baboon" I insulted as I went to the toilet

.....

"Uncle Haroon plssss" I pleaded with uncle Haroon to take me to Maya's house but he's here boasting about his old car.

"Let me rest in peace pls" he said eating his crackers

"Fine, rest in peace. Just because you have this old fashioned car that is why you are busy acting as if you are the only one that have vehicle on this  earth. Pls chop your car mtcheew" I hissed and went out of the gate

I took a cab and went to Maya's house

I entered the parlour carelessly. I didn't know the maid was mopping the floor as I ran on the wet tiles and slipped falling hard on my butt

"Ouch I think my ribs are broken" I said to myself as the maid help me to stand up. She kept apologizing and I told her its okay

I limped to Maya's room and she was watching something on her laptop with Habiba

"Hey guys" I waved trying to sit carefully on the bed

"Ouch" I winced in pain as I sat down

"What happened to you?" Habiba asked

"I fell down in the parlour" I told her trying to hold back my tears

"Aww sorry bestie" Maya said hugging me and I winced again

"My body is paining me" I complained.

"Sorry" they said as I lied down to watch the videos with them

......

"My dad is calling me already, let's go and see the big surprise, I wonder what it is. Oh I can't wait to see it"Maya squealed with happiness as she ran out of the room.

We followed her and went out of the room through the garden to the garage.

We greeted Maya's dad and he smiled

"Dad open it already" Maya said impatiently

"Open it yourself" he said giving her space to open the garage door

"No waaayyy" she shouted as she entered the over spacious garage.

"Yes waaayyy" her dad repeated as he handed a key of a freaking car

We followed her inside and I almost faint on seeing the brand new white

Audi car her dad bought for her

"Oh my fucking god" Habiba exclaimed in a hushed tone with wide eyes

"Lord of infinite mercy." I gasped and Maya jumped on her dad thanking him

She knelt down and prayed for him as she burst out crying

"Hey its okay,get up and don't cry" her dad said getting her up and hugging her. This moment want to make me emotional

I looked over Habiba and saw she's sniffing already

"Celebrate while I go out to attend a meeting" he said releasing her

"Ok thank you dad. Bye" Maya said after wiping her tears and her dad left

"Ok let's get back inside and cry cos we can't cry in front of a new car right?" Habiba said from nowhere and we all managed to cry

We walked back to the garden and as soon as I get close to the pool,I started feeling dizzy and my body became so numb

"Hey Khair" someone said scaring me to death as I shouted and flinched

I jumped in fear and my numb body betrayed me as I fell inside the swimming pool my back bone hitting the side of the pool

Everything became blurry then dark and I officially blacked out
