Exploration

This Elven city I am in is called Mandrikol. One of the 7 continent cities. A great city per continent. The Elves kept the original names of the continents. So this city was the capital of Europe.

There is a noble family in charge of each continent and a king rules the planet.

I learned all this from raiding a library. Which provided me with a lot of information. Such as, that humanity is not the only sentient species to fall prey to the Elves. In the same literal sense as well. They are world conquerors and an extremely long-lived species.

The adult age is 500 years old. A senior citizen would be 5,000 years and up. Most Elves start to die, or die, by the 10,000 year age mark.

I learned a lot about their magic and what they can do with it too. Along with the different titles related to magic mastery.

An Elf that is a qualified king is at least a Grand Magus. Nobles typically range from Master Sorcerer to Magus. A normal typically ranges from Mage to High Sorcerer

Their mastery ranks from high to low are: Grand Magus, Master Magus, Magus, Arch-Sorcerer, Master Sorcerer, High Sorcerer, Sorcerer, Arch-Mage, Great Mage, Master Mage, Adept Mage, Mage. There are ranks below mage, but it is rare enough to be at those ranks in adulthood that it is considered myth. Not even the talentless among the Elves are that inept at magic.

I believe there are ranks beyond Grand Magus, but the library didn't have their names nor information.

The books also gave examples of their power. An Arch-Mage could lead a fighting force to take over a city. An Arch-Sorcerer could lead a fighting Force to take over a country. Then their is a great qualitative leap. To where a Magus could lead a fighting force to take a continent. Finally, a Grand Magus can single-handedly take over a planet through sheer power. No strategy needed.

I need to know how I measure up to them. I know how my power came to be, it was mentioned in the file. An experiment of colliding anti-matter with dark matter that went wrong. I was hit with the new particle that was the result of the experiment. Which took place on a moon base. The particle combine with me and multiplied with and within my cells. Until every cell was comprised of the new particle.

First, I need to spend some time finding out as many details about my abilities as possible. Which is what I got started on.

I first tested how my invisibility really works. I started by floating a small cloud of Black Matter in front a farmer Elf. A normal farmhand. He didn't see it. Then I did a few light experiments with Black Matter. Light was not being reflected by it at all. This is all by default. A trait inherited from dark matter. Which made me realize I took this invisibility another step higher.

Some more experiments and I found out that heat, electromagnetic, odor, and sound signatures I had were being eradicated. I can only theorize that this is inherited from the anti-matter. Although the electromagnetic part is from the dark matter. As the only way to detect dark matter is to observe its gravitation effect on matter.

One of the most destructive traits was what was from the anti-mater. I do a standard....erasure of matter. Where matter is simply destroyed and the energy is absorbed completely so no blast happens. I can do an uncontrolled erasure, which really becomes a negation. As it results in the destruction of said matter in a grand explosion. A gram of anti-matter can explode like a nuclear bomb. A gram of Black Matter is even more powerful. I destroyed a couple of nearby mountains with a gram. Surveying the damage allowed me to get an accurate idea of how much Black Matter I really need for certain explosion sizes.

Some other Elves came to investigate in not even a minute. They didn't see me as I was surveying my work. I wasn't sure about their ranks, but I think one was a magus. So my invisibility holds up against a magus I think.

Moving on, I tested how Black Matter interacts with magic. Elves are using magic all the time. I just went into the city and interfered with some basic magic. I found that Black Matter disrupts magic, and dispels it.

I even made a wall in front of a Master Sorcerer doing some combat practice. It was a fireball spell, hot, compressed and strong. The fireball hit the Black Matter wall and dissipated into nothing casually. The Elf was immensely confused, but I didn't stick around. I had confirmed the anti-magic property of Black Matter.

Further testing had me discovered I could create and control neutrinos and quarks. Subatomic particles. Quarks interact and are important to the four fundamental forces of physics: electromagnetism, gravitation, strong interaction, and weak interaction. Neutrinos are harmless like photons and pass through most things seamlessly. Unless I make the neutrinos hit something dead on. Then I can make them...harmful. Quarks added gravity and electromagnetism to my arsenal of abilities.

I'm thinking that I may be stupidly powerful. I will need some opponents to fight and test myself against though.

I should probe around for potential targets to fight against. As even if I don't win, I'm confident I can escape. Although I think I won't lose to any Elf, not even the King.

All of my self-discovery took place over months. Therefore, I was not inexperienced with using Black Matter in more complicated ways. Meaning, I can go snatch away an Elf to fight whenever I feel like it. The unlucky Elf will ideally not survive their encounter with me.

During the late afternoon. I decided to ambush a farmhand that was out in a potato field. I cased out my target already. The Elf is Mios Kavillar, an Adept Mage at 512 years old. He has been employed on the farm for 12 years, as he found work as soon as he reached adulthood.

Elves live, think, love, and laugh like humans used too. I would consider it immoral to kill a civilian Elf merely for testing myself. If the Elves didn't eat human beings. They are not to be afforded my morality for this fact. At this time, there can be no peace.

I made a large dome over the Elf. Outside of the dome, people will not be able to see what is inside and everything would look normal. Inside, the Elf is in a slight panic as he saw a dome of darkness cover him. There was still some light being let in enough for him to see clearly though.

Finally, I float inside the dome. He turns to me in surprise and fear. I am totally covered in Black Matter. I am a pitch black floating humanoid. To his credit, he raises his hands and prepares his magic.

I speak to him in a distorted voice, "Adept Mage Mios Kavillar, die fighting or die cowering. You have 5 seconds to choose...

5...4...3...2..."

He cracks and launches a ball of fire at me. I wave my hand and a sole particle of Black Matter disrupts the magic and it puffs into nothing.

Mios' fear becomes more apparent. As he then sends a wave of fire at me. I float through it unscathed while disrupting the magic to fall apart. Then I point my finger and swipe it down. Gravity presses the Elf to fall flat on the ground in a faceplant. The gravity does not remain as it is not a constant attack. He tries to stand on shaky legs.

I chuckle, "Adept Mage is far to weak to test myself. Time to be rid of you, Elf."

I walk over to him as he shoots streams of flame at me. I walk through it as the magic flames break down on my Black Matter body skin. I then reach for his head and neck. Then I pull the head off in a small feat of strength.

I drop the head and body to the ground. I then undo the dome. I fly away with new confidence in my abilities.

As while the experiments all resulting in my power being beyond exceptional. Seeing it tested against an opponent is different, and more assuring. Now I know that I am extraordinary in combat power compared to a normal elf.

I won't bother testing a Master Mage. I'll find a Great Mage and then an Arch-Mage after that. No farmer would be a Great Mage though. I would have to go to a city or find a guard outpost. There are smaller towns and villages with weaker guards. One of their leaders would be a Great Mage.

I will try a village first. As it is highly likely they do not have anyone stronger than Great Mage. If they have a fighter at that level. If not, I'll go to a town to look for a Great Mage.
