It was a warm summer evening. Caden was watching a movie. He cuddled with his two chihuahuas who seemed like they were watching too. Tashi had a huge bowl of popcorn with him and plopped at the other side of the couch.
“You want popcorn?” Tashi offered, extending the bowl towards Caden. The latter grabbed a handful of popcorn.
“Why is the only thing you can cook perfectly popcorn?” Caden questioned. There were no unpopped kernels in sight.
“Because, Susan,” Tashi started. “I don’t like wasting perfectly good kernels.”
“Well, Julian.” Caden retorted. “You should learn to cook something healthy.”
“Corn is a vegetable right?” Tashi questioned. Caden paused.
“I don…” Caden was cut off by Tashi’s startling gasp. The popcorn splattered a bit on the carpet and the dogs had their ears perked to full attention.
“What time is it?” Tashi asked. Caden blinked and furrowed his brows. He looked at the clock.
“It’s 8 pm.” Caden proclaimed. “Did you forget to…”
