“You gave me a run for my money,” Laelaps outstretched her hand, offering it to Leila. She could feel everything else in the dream dissipate and they both stood now in a grassy clearing. Leila took Laelaps’ hand and stood. The taller woman looked into Leila’s eyes worriedly. “I was having difficulties contacting you. Luckily, your door reappeared for a moment and I got in.”
“The night terrors haven’t been forgiving,” Leila rubbed her eyes. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s not something you can control,” Laelaps said firmly, grasping Leila’s shoulders. “Has the cloaked man gotten to you? Did he enter your dreams?”
Leila shook her head. “I haven’t seen him since last time.”
“When you saw Lily,” Laelaps interjected. Leila nodded.
“It threw me out of whack. Seeing Lily.” Leila sighed.
“It is normal to grieve,” Laelaps beckoned her to take a seat on the grass as the wind blew. “Losing someone is one of the most painful things imaginable.”
