Wrong girl

My voice is weak, my eyes are puffing. I can't even look at him.

"Of course you was..." he speaks looking at me up and down.

Jax storm to the bathroom, I dress the fastest I can, I need to leave this room before he come back. I'm starting to understand what is happening here, this is not Amanda's bedroom, they don't sleep together. That's why I couldn't find Amanda's stuff here, also he was surprised to see me sleeping here yesterday, he barely speak or look at me.

Amanda didn't want to spend more time with her family, and of course she didn't bother to mention her marriage is falling apart.

I put my clothes and head out trying to find baby Jax bedroom. I walk upstairs and finally find the beautiful and fancy nursery. The babysitter is dressing him.

"Hey look at you! so fresh and clean. What a lovely little boy."

Baby Jax smiles big to me like the other times, I'm getting used to this cute smile. I'll miss it when I leave.

"He's so calm." I run a hand through his wet hair.

The babysitter gives me that weird look again.

(Shit, I did it again, didn't I?)

She glance at me like she wants to say something then give up.

"If you're done, I can take it from here."

"Who are you? You're not Amanda Redgrave."

I freeze, I don't know what to say.

"I... I just..."(Oh my God Candice, say something.)

"Oh my God! You're really not her, aren't you?"

The woman looks shocked, her jaw drops. She gasp and place a hand over her mouth.

"Please, don't tell anyone. I'll leave."

"No! Wait! Where's the real Amanda and who are you?"

"We're twins."

"No way! There are two of her?"

"Or two of me..."

The woman burst in laugh, I just stare at her. I don't know what to expect now.

"I can't believe it. This is..."

"Please, lower your voice. Someone can hear you."

"Where's Amanda?"

"She is spending the weekend with our grandfather, or should be."

"Oh! I see... She never mentioned family before."

"I bet she didn't"

"And you are taking care of her kid."

"Well... that was the plan but now I think I should go."

"No way! Please don't. I'd rather have you here, you seems to be a nice person. Unlike your evil twin sister. I'm sorry, no offense."

"Don't worry. I know my sister very well."

By the way, I'm Josie."

"Nice to meet you Josie. It's nice to finally have a friend here, it was starting to get lonely."

"I bet, but don't worry I'll keep your secret."

Josie smiles sincerely to me. I smile back, I'm feeling better now. It's nice to have a friend.

"Thank you very much, Josie."

We spend the rest of the morning together playing and taking care of baby Jax. Josie tells me everything she knows about Amanda's life with Jackson. They had a few dates, she got pregnant, soon they got married in just a few months but the marriage was never real. They're together only because they have a son, also because Amanda really enjoys the fancy life.

Only a few months after she gave birth, Amanda moved for her own bedroom, Jackson spends all his time working to avoid her. He's a great father but Amanda only cares about her baby when some of her posh friends or Jackson's family are around.

"I know Amanda was always selfish, irresponsible and shallow, but I'd never think she woud be like this to her own baby."

"You both look so different."

"Thanks, I guess..."

"I'd rather have you here."

"Well... you will, at least for the next day. She will be back on Monday."

"That soon?"

"Yes. I have a life too, you know?"

"Of course, but you had to pretend to be her. Is she she pretending to be you too?"

"No, just me. We have a deal, she would spend time with our grandfather and I'd pretend to be her for the weekend."

"You really had to blackmail Amanda to make her spend time with your grandfather?"

"Are you really surprised?"

"Not actually."

***

It's finally Sunday, I have bittersweet feeling about leaving today. I know Amanda was only using me, but I'm glad I could meet my nephew. I already love that boy, I feel bad his mother doesn't feel the same about him. At least I know Jackson and Josie will be here for him.

I didn't see Jackson since yesterday, he really can't stand Amanda, I don't blame him.

I left when baby Jax was still sleeping, I couldn't handle look at those cute eyes and say goodbye.

I'm waiting the train to home when the phone in my bag rings.

Someone is calling Amanda, I don't have to answer this anymore.

I let this goes off, but it rings again and again.

(I should at least check who's it)

*Josie? What's happening? Is everything ok with Jax?*

*Candice! Thank God*

*I'm trying to talk with Mr Redgrave, but he's unavailable, I didn't know who else to call...*

*Josie, calm down! please tell me what happened?*

*He was not feeling good in the morning, then he got warm... he was not getting better...I had to take him to the hospital*

*Poor baby...Where's Amanda?*

*I don't know, I thought she would be back when you left in the afternoon....*

*What?!! Josie... say it again. When you said I left?*

*In the... afternoon.*

*Josie I left in the morning*

*Oh no! Then it was...*

*Josie, she said anything?*

*Wait a minute*

*I asked Samuel, he left her at the central station she was with cases and bags.*

*Holly shït... she's not coming back, is she?*

*Candice, you know Amanda better than me... what do you think?*

*She's not coming back so soon.*
