History Doesn't Repeat Itself

After we left the secret door, I walked ahead gazing intently at the golden whip in my hand. I wondered what type of power it possessed and if I could possibly tame it.

It just looks like an ordinary whip and I thought wickedly if I could trash MingXia with it.

The strange connection I felt earlier disturbed me, it was a rare artifact so why did it call out to me? I don't even know anything about myself and now this only leads me to many more uncertainty, how will I_

"Don't think too much about it." my master spoke up, snapping me back to my senses like he knew exactly what was going through my mind. "I don't want you stressing over it, just take it as a weapon which isn't different from a sword." he added and that was the problem, I couldn't take it to be just like other swords, the hidden power in this golden whip was ironically frightening.

"Lord Qui, is there also a book that talks about the golden whip?" I asked and he shook his head in response.

"No book?" instead of finding it weird like any normal disciple would do, I was actually smiling like a complete idiot, that means I won't have to read anymore and I can practice using the whip instead. I'm starting to like this whip already.

"Before I forget I have to be somewhere." he neutrally said, judging from his tone he doesn't sound like he wants to be there.

"Where are you going?" I questioned politely.

"A quest, there are beasts terrorizing towns and I need to go handle the situation."

"Oh." was my only reply, that was a dangerous quest indeed and for the fact my master decides to go himself, it must be quite serious.

"I wish you victory then and I'm sure you'll be safe." I added with a smile and he only gazed at me for a few seconds before walking away from me, not uttering a single word. I was a bit puzzled by it but then I shouldn't be, my master was a strange being himself.

The rest of the day went by with me gazing at the golden whip, feeling anxious and excited to test it out at the same time, I don't even know a thing about it so it's best I let it be for now. I still felt restless, changing my sitting position while gazing at the whip, I sighed inwardly and I was just too curious to test it out.

"Senior Shanxia, don't stare at your weapon so much or else your eyeballs will fall out." Youlan said to me and I chuckled lightly, would my eyeballs fall out?

"Who told you that?"

"My father's disciples, they tell me I shouldn't stare at things for too long else my eyeballs would fall out, that's why I don't stare at too many snacks these days." she innocently said and I suppressed my laughter, I wondered why they played such pranks with her.

"Who are your father's disciples?"

She smiled. "Senior Bai QingQing, Xiu Yang Fe and Xiu Zhangjie." The glow in her eyes just by mentioning these three already tells how much she liked them.

"I see."

"You know what senior Shanxia, you should come over so I could introduce you to them. I told them how you dealt with bully MingXia and they want to see you."

Her words left me bemused for a moment, they want to see me?

"Are you sure about that?"

She nodded. "You haven't visited our Hall yet either." she got down from the chair standing on her two feet. "My father and Uncle Qui Shan are on a quest, come to my father's hall and meet my friends." she happily said gazing at me with an expectant look in her eyes, there was no way I could say no to such an adorable face.

"Of course, I'll come with you."

She grinned and watched me as I got to my feet. It would be nice to also meet them, since they are the ones who wanted to see me. I bet I'll be treated more nicely and it'll be good for me to interact with someone who isn't a little girl. I chuckled at my thoughts and with that, we both left my masters hall while I hung the whip around my waist. For a moment I thought it glowed but maybe it was just my imagination.

When we got to master Baozhi's hall, it was no different from my masters hall, everything looked explicit and polished. I stepped in with Youlan dragging me in further while holding my hand, she's always bursting with energy, I wish she could transfer some of that energy to me.

Unlike my masters hall, master Baozhi's hall was a bit crowded and everyone seemed to be heading in their respective directions. It was easy to tell they were servants since everyone was uniformly dressed.

Wow, I wonder why lord Qui didn't have servants like this in his hall.

"I can't spot them." Youlan tapped her chin focusing her gaze on the maids that passed by and once more her eyes brightened.

"I think I know where they are."

Before I could speak, she was dragging me past the hallway and I had no other choice but to follow.

We came across an open area which looked a bit bigger than our courtyard and in the middle, two handsome immortal disciples were practicing and a girl sat at the end of a pond which had petals on them, with her back against me and her long dark hair being swept by the soothing wind. I didn't need any more signs to know she was meditating. That must be Bai QingQing.

Youlan glanced up to look at me and I met her gaze.

"Come on." she urged me further, although I felt it'd be wrong to walk in on them while they seemed busy but Youlan wasn't ready to hear me out.

The two handsome disciples who kept clashing swords and releasing their spiritual powers left me awed as I watched them.

"Senior Yang Fe, Zhangjie." the little one called out making them pause their next strike, they turned to look at her while she carried a big grin on her face.

One of them let out a soft sigh like he had expected it. "Youlan, will you learn not to interrupt us like that?"

She giggled and ran up to him. "Senior Yang Fe, I brought a new friend." she happily said pointing in my direction, the eyes of the two disciples landed on me and I was certain I heard myself gasp.

They were both strikingly handsome, but the one named Yang Fe was even more eye-catching, I could bet he has tons of admirers.

"Senior Shanxia, come here." the little one said and I met her gaze indicating I can't do that.

The one I suppose to be Xiu Zhangjie smiled at me.

"Welcome." he said and I bowed in return.

"Greetings."

"She was the one who dealt with bully MingXia for me. " the little one blurted and Zhangjie walked up to me with a friendly smile.

"So you're the one who helped our little Youlan."

I shook my head with a smile. "It was really nothing, I didn't like their attitude either."

"Well you're welcome to our Hall and this is Yang Fe."

I met Yang Fe's gaze and he didn't utter a word, just kept staring which I found really uncomfortable. I averted my gaze, retracting them back to the friendly zhangjie.

"I apologize if we interrupted your training session, we didn't mean to show up out of the blue."

Zhangjie shrugged it off. "It's okay, we really do not mind, it's hard for Youlan to make friends so for the fact she brought you here, it means you're special."

I could feel myself blushing a bit, I've only gotten distasteful looks and annoying comments when I got here so for another immortal to compliment me eased me a bit.

"Thank you for your kind words." I bowed politely and he stopped me.

"No no, it's not necessary you do that, right brother?" he turned his gaze to Yang Fe who was startled by his comment but gave a slight nod in response. I thought suspiciously why he looks so baffled by my presence, is it that I look weird?

"Come let me introduce you to Senior QingQing." and once again, I was being dragged to the pond at the end.

"Senior QingQing."

She said nothing, but raised a finger in response to Youlan's words. Out of the blue, thousands of petals came flying our way, my eyes widened in bewilderment while the little one chuckled.

"Senior QingQing is using her powers again." she uttered, the petals all surrounded QingQing and she caught just one of the petals in her hand and slowly placed it at the tip of her tongue, the petals still surrounded her in some kind of little tornado form and I watched in awe.

She threw the petal she placed on her mouth and in the next minute, it was stuck on the wall, creating a hole like the wall was pierced, did the petal really do that?!

"You do know we're here, what if that petal of yours hit one of us." Zhangjie playfully complained.

QingQing slowly got to her feet and the petals all died down, I bent a little to pick one and the edges were just as soft.

"Too bad, I was actually aiming it towards you but I guess luck was on your side." Her charming voice caught me off guard as she turned around to look at us. Her emerald eyes glinted and a smile formed on her lips, she was undeniably beautiful, why was everyone so good-looking in this place?

"Senior QingQing." The little one ran to her while QingQing carried her in her arms.

"Try not to distract me when I'm meditating, okay Youlan?"

"Sorry." she innocently said, Bai QingQing finally met my gaze and I bowed with a smile.

"Greetings."

"Greetings, you must be master Qui Shan's disciple am I right?" she asked, making me nod in response.

"Lucky you." she said sweetly but the jealousy in her tone didn't waver at the slightest.

"I'm sure that cave was uncomfortable." Yang Fe finally spoke up and I nodded.

"Thankfully, I'm out of there so I'm no longer bothered about it."

"And your past?" Bai QingQing curiously asked and her gaze landed on the whip around my waist.

"He still gave you the whip, let's hope history doesn't repeat itself."
