Come Along

Bai QingQing's words left me in a state of puzzlement after spending a couple of hours with them.

It was getting to sunset so I had to return back to my masters hall.

When I got back, I wondered if he was back from his quest or not, those words Bai QingQing said to me; 'Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself.' troubled me.

What is it about the whip that would make her say something like that?

She never mentioned anything further about the topic, could it be possible I've used the whip before?

Does she know me?

I didn't even realize when my feet led me to my master's doorstep, the door was slightly opened so I assumed he was back.

I wanted to find out from him if I had a past with the whip or not and so with these thoughts in my head, I opened the door and walked in.

"Lord Qui I...." my voice trailed off the moment my gaze landed on the flawless skin that was trying to hide itself on some clothes.

My eyes widened and my mouth remained open while gazing at my master who had his bare back turned against me.

His long dark hair glistened as little droplets of water ran down his skin, guess he was just done bathing.

I couldn't blink and remained frozen like a statue as he grabbed a thin robe and swept it over his shoulders.

I felt a light blush creep slowly on to my cheeks at the sight of his lean muscles contracting to his movement.

My heart thumped heavily and I argued once more if it would be right to quietly leave or I should speak up and make my presence known.

But I was too frightened to do both, what if I plan on sneaking out and clumsily making a noise? I felt a quick chill run through my spine. What if..if..

"Achoo!"

And that happened as I sneezed, surprising myself as well and I watched my master turn to meet my gaze.

He let out a soft gasp at the sight of me and a sudden embarrassment filled me from within. How could I have let myself fall into a trance like that? I bit my lower lip and lowered my gaze.

"Shanxia, you're here?" The little surprise in his tone made me more embarrassed, how could I possibly have forgotten to knock?!

"Lord Qui, I....I..." I can't even remember the reason why I'm here, gosh what has come over me??

I slowly raised my head up to meet his gaze but the surprise look in his eyes had been erased and he was gazing at me in the same manner he always does, calm but firm.

"It's good you're here, help me with my sash." he said and I blinked at him, stunned by how easily he brushed away the situation.

I hurriedly went to his bed to grab the sash, handing it over to him with my gaze low.

He was facing me at the moment and I didn't want to end up staring at his exposed chest even though my eyes kept trying to betray me, I handed it to him stretching it forward but he didn't take it.

Confused, I glanced up to meet his alluring dark eyes and he showed me his palm which was bandaged to my shocking gaze.

"I'm hurt, so you'll have to help me with the sash." he added and I impulsively held his hand gently, gazing at the bandaged arm.

"What..what happened?" I asked out of concern.

"It's normal to have these injuries when going on a quest." he frantically said and I wondered if it hurt or not, like he could read the worriedness in my eyes, he folded his palm and I gasped opening it right up again.

"Don't do that!" I found myself scolding him which left us both baffled and I gently blew on it.

Doesn't he know it'd hurt more if he does that??

But at the same time, he was my master and scolding him right now wasn't right of me.

"For... forgive me for my sudden tone but I..." I didn't know how I wanted to explain the situation to him, that I suddenly got worried and scared?

"Let me help you with the sash." I immediately switched topics and didn't bother to meet his gaze as I arranged his robe, making sure they were perfectly set on him before placing the sash around him.

Standing this close to him and doing all of this felt odd but right, this feeling I felt was strange and also familiar.

I just couldn't wrap my fingers around it and my brain was doing no help but giving me constant headaches.

"What brings you here though?" my master finally asked probably to clear off the awkward silence, also bringing me back to the main reason why I came here.

"Uhmm, Youlan took me to her master's hall today and I met his disciples." I told him.

"Oh."

"They were nice, they treated me differently than other immortal's around here." I smiled and let go of his sash after tying it up for him.

"Yes, they are actually nice, I'm sure you were intrigued by Baozhi's hall." he stated and I paused for a moment before speaking, how did he know I'd be intrigued? Well, who wouldn't.

"Yes, it was lovely but I still prefer staying here." I replied honestly and truly I did, it felt more like home to me.

"Whatever you might want to talk about, leave it for when I come back." he said and I tilted my head to the side in utter confusion.

"Come back from where?"

"Someone's been releasing beasts into the Western village," he stated firmly. "I need to find out who it is and stop him."

That was another serious quest, what if he gets hurt again?

"How long will it take?" I asked.

"I don't really know, depends on how quick I'm able to catch the imposter." he added and I paused my lips without being able to utter a word, seems he's going alone, he's a legendary immortal so of course he could handle the situation but I couldn't leave him to go alone either.

"If you want, you can come along." he said and I met his gaze, staring into those eyes that never failed to give my mind a blackout.

"Hmm?"

"It'll be a great way for you to also test out your golden whip."

I gazed at the whip around my waist and his words made sense, going with him will definitely help me get a chance to use my special artifacts and I'm sure I'll be of help to him, but is that actually his main reason for wanting me to come along?
