(5 days later)
Dragon sat in the meeting room with his arms crossed. With the recent announcement of the new Yonko red haired Shanks, Dragon called an important meeting to discuss the next steps he should take.
"Any updates from Kuma?" asked his second in command.
"With the help of the encrypted snail, Kuma has been able to provide us with some updates. He has shown open hostility with pirates, but so far has resorted to no violence against the Marines in hopes of getting their attention. In the short time I've known him, I know Sengoku is a man with a strong sense of justice, and will notice Kuma's actions and not see him as he usually sees pirates. The current Warlord's have one spot open, which will hopefully be offered to Kuma soon." Dragon finished, shuffling his papers as he moved onto the next topic.
"As you know we will be adding another country to our revolution, a country by the name of Shredvine. Because they weren't able to pay the Celestial tribute, the country has turned into a violent place without order, and it's our jobs to save the people their and establish order back where it belongs. I've also decided to bring new members Liam and Chiyo."
"Liam…A very pretty boy he is, what do you think about him?" Ivankov inquired, looking towards Dragon with a curious look.
"Another very important member, especially for the future of the Army. He has a good understanding of his unusual blade, and has sufficient strength already. That strength will only continue to bloom and grow here. I spoke to him myself, and although he initially had his reservations here, he has become accustomed and is slowly fitting in."
"Accustomed?" Ivankov laughed. "If by accustomed you mean fighting with Sabo all day, then you're right."
The rest of the members laughed, recalling a time during their week where they witnessed the 2 prodigies fighting.
"Yes, he is making friends quickly." Dragon nodded, ignoring the joke and carrying on with his monologue.
"With Kuma gone, Chiyo will be the perfect replacement for head medic during these excursions. In fact she has the position in all but name as she already has the authority of a head medic at Baltigo."
"Head medic already? Are you sure Dragon?" Joe asked from the side of the room.
"Her medical skills and devil fruit speak for themselves. Her whole life has been dedicated towards healing people, so there is no one I would trust more." Dragon explained, getting ready to wrap up the meeting.
""Now, anything els–"
"PURUPURUPURPU PURUPURUPURPU"
"That might be Kuma." Dragon said as he picked up the white snail.
"Hello?"
"Dragon! Hello!" August said excitedly from the other end.
"August? Are you ok?" Dragon enquired.
"I'm ok, in fact I'm more than ok!"
Dragon raised his eyebrows, eager to get to the source of August's happy mood. It must be something important if it warranted a call.
"What happened?"
"I found her." Was the reply, and everyone but Morely had faces of confusion.
"Who?"
"Robin. Nico Robin, 'Light of the Revolution' "
"YES!!!" Morley screamed in joy as she raised her trident triumphantly. The rest of the members adopted expressions of equal amounts of shock and surprise. They had obviously heard of Nico Robin as it was a clear cut case of the World Governments lies and corruption. Nico Robin was an example of what would continue to happen as long as the World Government stayed in power.
Even the younger members knew about Nico Robin as it was taught on their curriculum of world history. The curriculum was designed to show the flaws and deceit of rulers of the world, and the case of Nico Robin was one of the most severe and damaging examples.
For years and years, they had tried to find her and take her in, but all they came up with was dead ends. It was something that humiliated and saddened them in equal amounts.
However, now they were hearing that August had found Nico Robin. They couldn't believe their ears!
"Are you telling the truth?" Dragon broke the silence that permeated through the room.
"Of course! I wouldn't lie about something like this Dragon!" August said truthfully through the other end of the call.
"Have you made contact with her?" Dragon inquired.
"Yes, I have. I told her about my alliance and the organisation, and…She's agreed to join."
Many held breaths were released at that moment as the entire room let out a collective sigh of relief that Nico Robin was now a part of their cause.
"Well done." Dragon praised, keeping it short but sweet. Having Nico Robin would be a huge benefit, both for the morale of the whole army and himself. The slight weight that was stuck to his heart for not being able to save her was lifted, and Dragon felt a lot better.
"Thank you. I'll be returning soon. I'll have to extend my trip some more, but I'm sure that's fine?" August asked in a hopeful tone.
"Yes. That's fine, enjoy the rest of your break, but remember to keep Nico Robin safe." Dragon said.
"Will do, see you soon." With those words, the call was cut.
"Looks like things are picking up…" Dragon said.
On the other end of the ended call sat August, currently twirling a fruit in his hand. He still hasn't fully healed up yet, but he was fit enough to travel to his hotel room.
"Ow!" August exclaimed as he was stabbed by one of the pricks.
Before August battled with Crocodile, August travelled around Raintown, buying all the different kinds of fruits he could. He knew that devil fruits reincarnated into the nearest fruit upon the owner's death, so he came prepared.
Luckily his gamble paid off as one of the fruits had transformed into something very similar to a cactus.
It was the Suna Suna no mi, Crocodile's former fruit.
The fruit was considered strong even for a Logia, and August believed it could rival the 3 admirals logia if used correctly. Sand was very versatile and could be used both long range and short range, for blades, bullets and armour, and it even had its own effects when touching both a person and the ground. Bar the Goro Goro, it was the most versatile logia he had seen in the series, and was only put down by its weakness with water and blood, but if Crocodile was more experienced he could have found a way around it.
He turned his attention away from the devil fruit and to his transponder snail. He had another call to make to Cobra.
"PURUPURUPURU PURUPURUPURU"
"Hello?" A tired voice asked on the other end.
"I should really get you some sleeping pills." August made himself known in his infamous Hades voice.
"Hades!" Cobra said, sounding almost relieved that his partner was alive.
"Cobra, it's been a while." Hades greeted.
"It has, I was beginning to get worried someone killed you."
"Don't worry, I'm not easy to kill. I ran into a little trouble…but I'm fine." Hades reassured him.
"Trouble? You mean?" Cobra asked fearfully.
"Yes, trouble of the Crocodile kind. But don't worry, everything's been sorted."
"Wait…" Cobra stopped speaking, trying to process Hades' words, "You mean Crocodile is dead?" He spoke in a hushed whisper as to not be heard.
"He is. Your problem is gone Cobra, Alabasta is safe."
Cobra let out a sigh of relief, all of the stress leaving his body in an instant. All the sleepless nights filled with stress and anxiety, all the days working hard to find the perpetrator, fear of Vivi's safety. In a single breath all of that tension was released, and Cobra never felt better.
"Thank you." Cobra said, his voice filled with sincerity.
"No problem. I know what it's like to be in what seems to be a hopeless situation, but luckily I pulled myself out of it with some help. Sadly, I know some situations which are hopeless with zero chance of winning, so helping you was just a way to keep my conscience clean. There is also the second favour." Hades reminded him, immediately making Cobra freeze in his tracks.
He had been so worried about Crocodile he forgot about the favour. What if it was bad, worse than what Crocodile had planned, what if it's to do with Vivi?
"Don't worry." Hades' calm voice reaffirmed him. "My favour is nothing absurd, and it's definitely in your power to do this."
The call was silent for a few seconds as Cobra took a deep breath.
"Ok. When should we meet?"
"In 2 weeks, where we usually do." Hades told him, not bothering for an answer and ending the call.
