a guide to magic

FROM THE FIRST PERSON (Roel Ascart)

I was the strongest. I could wipe out any country if I wanted to. With the infinity technique and the "six eyes", I was really the strongest person. However, I was really proud of myself now.

I learned to crawl!!!

I used to be very bored lying alone in my little crib, but now... I was constantly running away from my parents to get a better look at the house. In the living room there was a large chic sofa and a large round table, images of the descendants of the house of Ascart hung on the edges of the walls.

Indeed, almost all of my relatives had gray hair. I said almost everything because I saw several brunettes in the photos, but even if the blood was mixed, the baby was still born with white hair.

A YEAR LATER

I was able to walk to the entrance to the library, but my mother found me and said, "Yes, you will be just as difficult to get along with as your father."

I really create a lot of problems for my mother...

Nevertheless, after all the unsuccessful trial and error, I still crawled to the library. There were a lot of books in libraries, but I was attracted to the encyclopedia.

As far as I understood, there were kingdoms on the continent of Dikaten, in each of which there was a king who ruled his country together with his family.

But the most important thing I learned is that there was a kingdom of people on this continent of Dikaten, but I could not find more information about this kingdom. There was also the kingdom of Darv, dwarves lived in this kingdom, but the information from the book ended there.

I put it aside and started reading another book.

* Beginner's Guide for Privileged Magicians* - that was the name of the book I was going to read.

"Although control over mana is transmitted mainly by genes, there have been many cases where the children of magicians could not feel the mana surrounding them. The latest census shows that about one in a hundred children can sense mana, but this can only be verified when the mana core is fully formed, i.e. during the periods of late childhood and early adolescence. It is known that magic in bodies wakes up when the core is fully formed. This leads to the formation of a translucent barrier around the awakener, which disappears after a few minutes."

Flipping through the pages, I find something that catches my attention.

"...Mana can be used in several ways. Two of them are the most common and are used to strengthen the body through the use of mana (Augmenters) and release to the outside world (Conjurers)..."

"...Augmenters are the most common type of warriors who collect mana and channel it through their body, strengthening it for attack."

"...Spellcasters can use mana to cast spells that extend to a specific area or a specific target."

Disadvantages and limitations

"While the augmentator has incredible strength, defense and agility, their speed leaves much to be desired..."

"Spellcasters have unfathomable power and can change the battlefield according to their conditions. However, even such forces have limitations. Unlike other magicians who use most of the mana from their core, spellcasters must, in addition to their own reserves, receive mana from the environment in order to cast spells."

"While both types of magicians, or Mana manipulators, are scientifically classified by mana core, accelerators and casters also have their own different ways of evaluating their abilities."

* Inverted*

"For amplifiers, mastery is measured by the power of mana channels in the body, which quickly and efficiently channel mana from the core to various parts of the body..."

"...For spellcasters, talent is measured by the power of mana flowing through their veins, which shows how quickly and efficiently mana from the outside world can be absorbed."

* Inverted*

"...Magicians (mana manipulators) usually belong to these two divisions, because trying to master both types is incredibly difficult and inefficient. Most elves are born with a big difference between their mana channels or mana veins"

"...The Augmenters doesn't need a strong mana vein because they mostly use his mana core, while the casters don't really need strong mana channels because they don't rely on mana in his body."

Hmm... So this is my stupid dad, more suitable for bonuses than for casters.

Basics of Witchcraft

"The initial steps to collect mana for casters will be to grab mana from the surrounding area, turn it into your core to stabilize and purify it, and then send it to the appropriate guide (staff, wand, ring, etc.) with mental control and an order to turn your mana into the spell you want..."

* Inverted*

"... The more powerful the spell, the longer it will take to collect the surrounding mana, put it into the core and release..."

* Inverted*

"Since the spell involves focusing mana into a spell, mages have a special penchant for the basic elements (air, water). But with proper preparation, the caster can master all the elements.

* Scrolls*

Basics of Magnification

"Unlike spellcasters, boosters spend much less time collecting the surrounding mana. The effective use of augmentation requires precision of speed in using mana from its core, without relying on mana in the atmosphere..."

"Augmentation requires the correct distribution of mana in different parts of the body. Although it seems simple, augmentation requires a deep understanding of the structure of one's own body. The ability to use mana channels effectively requires many years of both mental and physical practice."

* Inverted*

"Since the augmentation includes the user's mana core, the efficiency of pure mana is not that much different from normal. However, augmented magicians can control their mana at will, which leads to an increase in attacking abilities."

* Inverted*

"This phenomenon is called a 'Reaction', and it occurs in both types of magic. To increase, this is due to the depletion of the mana core, which leads to extremely painful bodily injuries, depending on how serious the damage was done to the mana core. For casters, the reaction occurs when the mana core is full. This happens when an overly powerful spell is invoked that goes beyond the capabilities of the caller."

Closing the book, I sat on my ass and began to digest the information I had just read....

Testing my hypothesis, I started meditating, trying to feel mana with my "six eyes" when....

"There you are! Roel, dear, do you have any problems with ka-ka?"

Mom! I'm going to be the greatest wizard in this world, and you're making me look like a constipated kid!

Taking me in her arms and gently laying me down, she forcibly took me away to change the diaper, which, to my surprise, was full.
