FROM THE FIRST PERSON (Roel Askart)
2 YEARS LATER
It has been more than two years since I made my difficult way to the library.
Since then, I have been constantly trying to collect pieces of mana and decompose it in my body, so that I can concentrate them and try to form a core of mana. I must say, this is a rather slow and difficult task. It's easier to learn to walk on your hands and eat with your feet than to collect mana in this damn body. But thanks to the "Six Eyes", the speed of core formation has noticeably improved.
I noticed that my "Six Eyes" retained only a small part of their powers. I am able to see better than any normal human or elf, I can sense mana better and control it… But that's it.
I have two theories on this. The first consists of the fact that my "Six eyes" are not fully formed, this can be explained by the pain in my eyes even when they are closed. The second theory is that the elven body is unable to fully utilize the potential of the "Six Eyes".
I hope it's not the latter, because I have no idea how to solve this problem.
Well, I can't say it's a bad thing. Thank you at least for the fact that I have them left.
The daily rituals consisted of trying to spend a lot of my energy on collecting the surrounding mana and avoiding unnecessary attention from my mother and father. My father seemed to think that if you throw a child in the air, it would be very pleasant for him. I understand that this is a kind of adrenaline effect that can excite some people, but when his hands are reinforced with mana and throw me into the air, I fly like a projectile, feeling nauseous and getting a traumatic fear of heights.
Fortunately, my mother kept a tight rein on my father, sometimes even scaring me. I often catch her looking at me, she drools, as if I'm some kind of premium meat.
I tried to adjust to my body and said some very simple phrases. After I said "mom" for the first time to let her know that I wanted to eat, she almost burst into tears with joy. Since then, I just needed to talk to get some attention. My dad sulked all day because I said "mom" and not "dad."
Although the pace of training was intense and slow even with the "Six Eyes", I got a pretty big head start from the rest of the elves, so I didn't complain much.
During these two years, as far as I understood, their old friends came to my parents. They were a man and a woman, the woman looked to be 30, she had dark green hair reaching to her hips and big brown eyes, she was beautiful, her beauty could even rival the beauty of my mom. The man was quite tall, according to my calculations he was at least 2 meters tall, he had shoulder-length black hair and dark green eyes, he was quite handsome.
The woman's name was Sophia Duran, and the man was Noah Duran, as you have already understood, they are husband and wife.
I managed to eavesdrop on their conversation, and this is what I learned.
When my father wasn't working as a royal guard yet, he saved a tall man from being attacked by bandits, and they've been getting along very well ever since.
The Duran family was of noble status, they had many descendants who reached the silver core, but it just so happened that Noah had no talent in magic, and he was stuck at the light red stage.
Although the family I was born into did not have a noble status, it was known for its loyalty to the royal family. Almost all the descendants of the House of Askart served as bodyguards of the royal family, and for their services to the royal family, they were given the house where my family now lives.
After the guests left, I sneaked into the training room and began to form my mana core.
I was about halfway through collecting mana particles. These last three years have not been wasted, because I finally gathered all my mana in the solar plexus and condensed it into a core of mana when... BOOM!
