My father was still not in favor of having Sukie come to the castle, especially with us preparing for war. Her being there was a huge risk to the kingdom and a major distraction for me. Completing the bond was the worst thing we could have done in his mind, but it was done. We couldn’t change that, and now she needed to be protected.
I hardly did any of the talking or convincing with him. If I had to try convincing him myself, he would have never bent on allowing her to stay in Galdor. I still had so much to learn about him after all these years of not being around him. He had a few good qualities, but the bad ones were really bad. Ultimately, the most important thing was that through it all, we knew he cared about us.
