Chapter 3- The Man From The Nuthouse

I was passing buildings one by one not paying any attention to the things around me, or even where I was. Then a familiar voice said "miss me?" I frowned and turned to look. Sure enough it was the man from the nut house. I turned around to continue walking. He started walking next to me.

"I thought he would have killed all of you by now." I said without looking over at the man from the nut house.

"Who? The boy in the hood?" He said to me with a dorky smile on his face.

"Yeah, surely you remember him." I said looking at him as if he were really stupid.

"Oh I see." I paused "You don't even know who he is do you? He just magically popped in to save you, and you've never even seen him before." He started laughing and I stared confused. "Don't be ridicules. He's the invisible boy I saw in the alley. What caused you people to lock me up."

"Ha!" He shouted in my ear "then how can I see him?"

"Maybe he wants you to see him." I said walking a little faster. He grabbed my arm to stop me. "Or maybe you're just as crazy as I am." At this I gave him my best smirk.

"Well you know what I want little girl? I want him, and you're going to help me find him." He pulled me into an abandoned building that looked like nobody's lived there for a hundred years. He placed a chair directly in the middle of the room and tied me to it. I struggled trying to break free. Then I saw it. He had sharp teeth like the boy I saw in the alley that night. I struggled even more. It was no use, I couldn't break the rope.

"What do you want with him anyway?" I said waiting for an answer.

"He's been killing my kind for years. And now, I'm going to take him out."

"Your kind?" I said confused. "How do you even know he'll come for me?"

"Because he rescued you once which means you're worth keeping alive." He paused. "He'll come."

"And if he doesn't?" He turned toward me stroking a knife in his hand. He walked up to me, put the knife to my throat and got so close to my face as if he were going to eat me.

"Then I'll just kill you instead." I could feel my heart beating out of my chest. He pulled the knife away and I let out a big sigh of relief. He was polishing every one of his knives and placing them down on the table as if there was a certain order they go in. He glared at me.

"Now, we wait." Two hours passed on the clock.

"Okay obviously he isn't coming and I'm bored out of my mind. I doubt he's even looking for me." I said out of boredom.

"He's almost here. I can smell him."

"That's disgusting." I said looking away. It really was.

"You know, you have guts talking like that to someone who can kill you in the blink of an eye." I didn't say anything after that. If he was going to kill me anyway I shouldn't say anything that could speed up the process.

Just then the lights went off. It was darker than your average dark. Not even a sprinkle of light came in from any direction. There was a noise as if someone took a step and the floor board squeaked. I couldn't see it but I could tell by the noise that somebody was opening the front door directly in front of me. It was dark outside now but the light from the street light outside streaked in as the door slowly squeaked open. The light streamed in and I saw the man with the sharp teeth hiding behind the corner ready to attack. The hooded boy lifted a leg about to take a step inside.

"No!" I yelled trying to break loose again. The man pounced on the hooded boys back trying to stab the knife through his neck but the hooded boy slammed him into the wall causing him to drop his knife. The hooded boy grabbed his arm flipping him forward on his back and onto the table in front of them smashing it under him. I braced myself as I waited for him to spring up and attack again, but he didn't. The hooded boy pulled out the glowing green knife and plunged it through the man's heart. His body burst into ash and disappeared in seconds. The hooded boy walked toward me and cut the ropes with his knife and helped me up because I couldn't see anything except the green light from his knife. He grabbed my hand and directed us out the door. The light relieved me as if I haven't seen it in years.

"Are you alright?" He asked me. I let out a big exhale as if I hadn't breathed the entire time.

"No, not even close." I said. "What happened to him back there? His body just vanished." He smiled. Good god this man was gorgeous when he smiles. "Thats what happens to demons when they die. Its good, leaves no evidence behind." Did he say demons? Oh God, I'm going to pass out. I stumbled forward. He caught me.

"Whoa, you alright?" I nodded. "Good because it took me forever to find you."

"That was forever? You weren't even gone that long." I laughed. He smiled back. Damn he's hot. "Why were you looking for me anyway?" I asked.

"To see if you made it out okay. I told you I'd come find you after, did I not?" He paused to make sure I was listening.

"But you were nowhere in sight so I figured something was wrong. I even went to your house but your brother said you took off." I was so shocked.

"I-i didn't think you were actually serious about that." He let out a chuckle. Stupid, stupid, stupid. "Come on, let's get out of here." He grabbed my hand and directed me out the door.
