Arrival

"Baby," he began, hesitantly. Please don't be like that."

But the baby didn't even deign to answer or turn around. So Jiide sighed, shook his head, then stood up to join Myrhes and admire the glorious space beside him. They remained a few minutes, as silent as overwhelmed, then the emperor forced himself to speak again.

"You know, a few moments ago I saw a comet pass by, a beautiful blue rock, leaving a large, dusty, bright trail in its wake. And although I can easily guess that you saw it too, but that you never intended to talk about it or even give it importance."

He laughed briefly before continuing.

"It reminds me of so many things. Things like beauty, grandeur, light, but also... the brevity of life. In fact," and he was silent for a moment before revealing his thoughts, "you remind me of it the most."

Surprised in his turn, Myrhes looked up sharply at his uncle.

Although aware of this gesture, the latter continued without taking his eyes off the infinite space.
