I went looking for food but ended up fighting a giant boar

Walking into the forest, I try to look for a monster or animal to eat. Large trees with twisted branches grow in this forest, eyes belonging to small animals or monsters reflect light in the darkness, giving the forest an eerie vibe. Using the moonlight to guide me as I wandered in search of food in this creepy forest, I suddenly hear a piercing scream from my right side.

I push away some branches and made my way towards the scream. Someone could be in danger, if I don't hurry things might go bad. I don't want anyone to go through what I did! I run as fast as I can. I seem to be faster than before, perhaps it's due to my high agility stats as a vampire. Great, I just might be able to make it in time!

I finally arrived. In front of me, two humans stood like statues and stared in front of them. Their faces were pale from shock and they were wearing similar clothes. One of them turned to me and used hand gestures to tell me to run away. Instead of running away, I turned and look at what was in front of them. If they are truly in danger, with the three of us we could surely make it out!

Breathing rapidly, a giant boar was standing in front of them. The boar was facing a tree, no it was facing another person. The person slumped on the tree was wearing similar clothes as the other two, he seemed unconscious. Since the three of them are wearing similar clothes, it is safe to assume they are companions. The boar must have charged at him just now, which explains it seeming out of breath. The unconscious man needs to get help soon or his condition might worsen. But it's not like anybody could get close to him since he's so near the boar…

I don't know how strong this boar is but with my agility, I could be able to outrun it. I could create a distraction so the other two men could take their companion to a doctor. If worse comes to worse then I would just have to fight the boar or run to a place to hide. If I'm lucky, the boar might be even weaker than me! Okay, so I would first attack the boar from a blind spot, then run away to make it chase me so those guys would have enough time to carry their fried along with them. If I can defeat the boar after making sure it's a safe distance away from them it would be for the best, if I can't then I'll just have to outrun it!

"Hey, I will distract the boar and the both of you go grab your companion and run okay?" I spoke at a near whisper volume.

The two men nod and I executed my plan. It was a good thing that I stood behind a large tree, so the boar didn't notice me just now. Judging from the earlier actions of those two, the boar reacts to big movements. They must have thought standing still might have been a better option than running away from it. I use the trees to hide my presence as I made my way to the boar's blind spot. To be honest, I've never done this before. My heart beats rapidly as I ready myself to attack the boar.

I activate the skill [Claw] and my sharp fingernails extended about 5cm. Okay, this was shorter than I expected, but I can work with this. I jump near the boar and deal a scratch attack at its middle. Blood began gushing out and most of it got stuck to my nails along chunks of flesh. I quickly yell

"Run!"

The two men began dashing away towards the direction of their unconscious companion. In a few seconds, they have already ran far away from here beyond my view. To my horror, they left their companion who was still slumped on the tree. What sort of shitty companions are they?! Damn it! While I was busy feeling pissed off at their actions, the boar that was facing the direction where the two men ran off to, turned to face me. Its eyes were filled with rage and glowing a brighter red as it stared at my blood soaked hand. Ah so you want to kill me for scratching you right boar? I should still stick to my original plan, perhaps those two who ran away might actually be getting help? Let's look at the bright side, plus if I manage to kill this boar it shall be my first meal in this game!

I broke into a sprint and ran towards the opposite direction of where the two men went. If the direction they ran to leads to a village, it would cause chaos if this mad boar were to go there! Behind me, I could hear the boar's obnoxious heavy breathing and the thumping sound of the ground as it gave chase to me. It's not running as fast as I expected, maybe it is preparing for a charge attack or it's not really agile? If I had some sort of skill to let me see its [Status] then I would know, but all I'm doing now is just making random assumptions.

After I feel like I have made it run far enough, I stop and pivot, running to the boar's side I stab its middle with my fingernails. The boar squeals in pain, it sounded distorted. Just when I was about to attack the wound I had inflicted earlier, the boar turns it's body and uses it's hind legs to kick me. It was too unexpected, I couldn't dodge it. Its hind legs kick my stomach, the force was so powerful that it sent me flying before I crashed back first on a tree.

Ughh, it hurts so much! I should have known it would not just stand there and let me deal blows at it. It seems that our agility should be about the same, but its strength must be very high since it sent me flying. Judging from how easily I managed to injure it, the both of us must have crappy defence. I should check my status first, so that I can decide whether to run or continue fighting it.

That explains it. The boar is still glaring at me, its stance is leaning towards the injured area. Eh? Why hasn't it made a move yet? Is it dying? No, it still has enough energy to stand, so what could it be? Wait, no way! Could I really be right that it only reacts to big movement? I've been quite still for a while now and it still hasn't made a move. If I could wait it out, I might be able to eliminate it. It's still bleeding, so it probably doesn't have the skill [Low auto regeneration] or recovery types of skills. At this rate, it might probably bleed to death before I finish it off.

As it stared at the tree I was lying on, I couldn't help but stare at the blood trickling down. Perhaps it is because I am now a Vampire or I'm just hungry, but I really feel like drinking it. Every time a droplet of blood fell onto the ground, I felt like just rushing over to the boar to drink its blood. However, my Hp is still too low, I need to recover enough to at least move my body. The pain is gradually subsiding but it still hurts so much! It's been about ten minutes, time to check my status!

Great! My Hp recovered by 10, 50 Mp was exchanged. Hmm, so level 1 of [Low auto regeneration] would help me get 1 Hp per 10 Mp every minute and level 2 would be 1 Hp per 5 Mp every minute? With 35/50 Hp my body feels less painful, I'm not fully recovered so it still hurts. However, my Mp at 30/100 is causing me to feel fatigued. If I really get hit again, then [Berserk] condition would activate. I don't see any other beings here other than the boar so I won't have to worry about hurting someone. Besides [Berserk] is usually the type of condition that makes you stronger right? I mean of course I'm worried if I would lose my sanity while my condition is [Berserk], but worse comes to worse if I'm killed by the boar I really wouldn't know what to do…

Enough worrying, I should come up with a strategy to defeat the boar once and for all! The boar is still standing at the same position, it would work to my advantage if I could use a surprise attack but it would be difficult to launch one since it's so fixated on me! Should I just run towards it and stab it with my claws until it stops moving? But if I do that it would just turn around and kick me since I've already used that move twice! I would really prefer not to have the [Berserk] condition to be activated! Wait, there is a way to launch a surprise attack!

I ready myself and dash to the side of the boar that was bleeding. The boar turns around, its rear facing me and hind legs ready to kick me. I move back a little, dodging its attack, then I jump as high as I can and land on the boar's back. While the boar is in a state of confusion, I sink my fangs into it and began drinking its blood. The boar tries to shake me off of it but I use my claws to hold onto it. Within seconds, the boar stops shaking me and lets out a squeal, before collapsing to the ground. I let go of the boar from my fangs and claws, there was no longer anymore blood in the boar as I have drank it all. Now that it has stopped moving, I take a good look at the boar that almost killed me.

This boar is definitely not like the boars back in my world. It's about twice as big and not to mention it has four eyes! A pair on its face and one on each of its foreleg. That's quite creepy. So in this game's world are there really no normal animals but just creepy monsters roaming around? If that's the case living here would be tough.

Oh my, a level up! Yay! So I gain EXP from monsters I kill and level up, this world really is like an RPG game! I also obtained a new skill! It seems like the one that gave the boar funny vision, could it be that the boar couldn't turn it off? Let's see what it says about it!

My stats have increased a lot! Except of defence… My Hp and Mp have also recovered quite a bit! It must be due to [Mana drain] and [Life drain], seeing as those two skills have increased in level. If I keep using my skills they would level up and improve right? Hmm I should have boar transformation added to my [Transformation] skill right? I mean I don't think there would come a time where I would use it but it wouldn't hurt to check right? Let's see!

It wasn't an ordinary boar of this world? Well that's a good thing which means there might be normal creatures that don't look creepy like it but if these are roaming around freely, then this world is quite dangerous. If there are monsters stronger than it, then I just have to become stronger in order to survive it. These seem more troublesome than other participants, they should still be at a low level like me right? I haven't seen any other participants so far, assuming I'm the last one, there should be at least 99 more of them. Perhaps all the participants are scattered around this game? Who knows, I should check with Marie later. I wouldn't want to encounter another participant though, since they might want to eliminate me as quickly as they can or something. Oh yeah, I almost forgot about the unconscious guy! I better go check on him!
