Chapter 17: Savior

Conner stayed in the pod until morning. When he got out, he was still injured but feeling much better. As he walked over toward a mirror, he saw all the bruises on the outside of his body were gone so he would not have to worry about Caitlin noticing them. Conner then summoned his suit and saw that was finally fully repaired.

'I figured this wouldn't last long in fights but didn't expect to break down as fast as it did. At least I got some valuable data though.'

Conner walked into the main room of the lab but it was the rare occasion that Scotty was not present. He walked over to the computer and pulled up a file that he had Scotty make the night before after the fight. Conner had made sure to record it so that he could learn from it.

He watched the video the suit recorded of himself and Allen in a 3-D manner. With all the different sensors on it, Conner could predict every attack that came at him if he used the sensors to their fullest abilities.

'100% charge in the suit would give me another 5000 tons or so if I throw it into a full power punch but the suit can only take about 3 of those before it can no longer sustain itself. It will last even shorter if I'm fighting someone on my level.

If I add my red aura on top of that, I can add another 15,000 to my strength making me able to go 20,000 over my normal limit during the beginning of a fight but I will be stuck at the 15,000-ton limit later in the fight or if I take on a stronger Viltrumite down the line.

I can't make the vibranium stronger or store more energy. I already had Scotty do as much as he could with both. And there is no adamantium I can mix it with to make it even stronger.

Ugh! Forget about it. I will have him install a second suit in the necklace. One made of carbon fiber or something that I can use as just clothes. I can bring out the true suit when I need it.'

Conner was also thinking about getting his hands on Allen's DNA and trying to give himself a zenkai boose but realized it was impossible. Viltrumite DNA overwrites everything and makes them immune to pretty much any type of genetic change or biological warfare.

Conner put trying to come up with shortcuts to get stronger in the back of his mind. No matter what he tried to come up with, it all was either not feasible or even possible. He decided to do it the good old fashion way: head to the gym and destroy every limit he had.

When Scotty returned a few hours later, he saw that Conner was hard at work in the gym. After deciding to ignore him, he decided to take a look at the footage that was taken. When he saw how many blows Allen took not only give but also take from Conner, he was shocked once more.

Another being able to hit as hard him was fine but one that could also take hits almost as well? That was something that was truly hard to believe.

Just as he finished the video, Conner had emerged from the gym and was heading towards the showers. Scotty appeared in front of him as soon as he saw him.

"Conner, no Boss, no My Dearest! Please let me have some more vibranium. I can bet that I can create a weapon that can harm something like him," Scotty pleaded sincerely

He thought that Omni-Man and his sons were the only beings in the universe that were truly scary. But after seeing Allen, he realized that his view on alien species was just too lacking.

'Who knows how many aliens there are that are that strong?'

Conner saw the worry in Scotty's eyes and could not help but laugh at him.

"I understand your worry but the beings on our level are far and few between. There are less than a hundred of them in the universe," Conner said in an attempt to comfort but did not realize that made Scotty's anxiety worse

"That many?!?! Then I definitely need to create a weapon that can kill things such as them!"

"There are fewer than 20 weapons in the universe that can harm them. And each of those has mystical properties of some type or science so advanced that you have never even thought of it. Even if I give you the vibranium, you would just be wasting it if you tried to create a weapon," Conner explained

He wanted to comfort Scotty but he could not bear to lie to him. The number of things that could truly kill beings on their level was very limited besides others like them.

'Wait... others like us?'

Several ideas flashed through Conner's mind at once. He went over to the computer and started to write them all down and design each one. Scotty followed him over and saw everything that Conner was coming up with.

With each line of words he read, he felt like his worldview was opened more. With each design made, his jaw would drop a little more.

When Conner was finished, he felt exhausted mentally and physically but he could not hide the smile on his face.

"Can you do it? No limit on vibranium, we take whatever knowledge we need from others. Can you do it?" was all he asked

Scotty struggled for a moment. There were only 3 ideas but if he was able to complete even one of them, he was confident in only being able to create one of them and that was with the help and knowledge of many others.

But when he thought of all the planning and worry Conner had been going through by himself, all the time spent in the gym trying to push himself past his already high limits... Scotty knew something big was coming. And if Conner was going to face it, he would need all the help he could get.

"A year and a half. I can get the first design done I'm a year and a half. Faster if you can get me some more information on related or higher levels of technology.

The second one... it depends. I can probably get it done in 4 years while also working on the first design. The issue is that I am not familiar with this field at all. If you can get some of the data the Mauler Twins and other geneticists have, I can get it done faster.

As for the 3rd one, I honestly can't tell you. I would need to build so many things from scratch that I have never thought of just to be parts of it. Getting this done in 10 years of absolute focus on this and nothing else would be the fastest I think I can get this done."

Conner nodded without a word. He knew that he was asking a lot of Scotty. Scotty was a hacker, genius, and metallurgist. He was not the best engineer. Scotty would mostly look into classified data and reuse it for his own tech with some added flair.

'But if Scotty pulls these off, he will become the savior of the universe.'
