Chapter 6: First friend

"Hahaha, you're funnier than I thought" Craig laughed out loud "I work out and eat a lot of meat, you look like you could use some food, you and your spiritual beast over there looks too scrawny"

"I'm trying my best to eat a lot, but I get full really easily" Perseus replied

"Can we be friends?" Emma asked enthusiastically "I don't think I have a friend that is a guy, so please?"

"Um...sure, I guess" Perseus replied

"Yay!" she cheered

"You try anything funny on my daughter and you're dead" Craig warned

"Um... I'll be sure to that in mind" Perseus nodded nervously

"Can I pet them?" Emma pointed to Ace and Siege

"Um if they allow you to, then yes" he answered

She didn't wait for an answer as then went ahead and play with Siege who looked uncomfortable as she do so, but he didn't complain.

"You don't mind me observing their first day learning, do you?" Craig asked

"No not at all Craig, let's get started" Williams replied

"Now before we move on to the actual etiquette class, I have a few questions. How should you act around the enforcers?" Williams asked to test his 2 new students

"Be mindful of your appearance and what you say" Emma answered

"Good, what about you Perseus?" he then turned to Perseus

"I personally would use the taser I stole, charge it and shoot it at them before running away" Perseus replied

"That's not very nice" Emma scolded as her father was laughing his butt off in the back

"I keep forgetting about your circumstances, though I am curious as why you would do that" Williams questioned

"Well they deserved it, most of em just beat you up without any reason, even when I was just staying around the gates, sometimes, they would tase us for their amusement" Perseus replied

"Enforcers don't do that" Emma argued "They ensure our safety and get rid of criminals, maybe you did something bad in the first place"

"Well I wouldn't need to if they treated me better in the first place" Perseus retorted "Some of the people in those cells are innocent, even the enforcers know that, but they choose to lock them away anyway"

"Stop arguing now, and let's move on to our first lesson..." Williams stopped their arguing

The class ended, Emma and her father are then in their carriage heading back home.

"What is it with him?! I asked him to be my friend and he was so mean!" Emma complained "I can't believe about all the things he said about the enforcers, all they do is protect us."

"Well you're lucky Emma, you know where he come from, even your friends and people around us don't like people from the buries." Craig comforted her by patting her head "I believe all those stories he told us, enforcers tend to abuse their authority, and people like us chooses to ignore it"

"I know, but he's in here now, shouldn't he be nicer?" Emma pouted

"Some scars take a long time to heal," Craig sighs "He would've been picked up earlier if there wasn't so many complications back then, for now, just be nice to him."

"I will" Emma smiled "When do you think I can use arcana? I want to use it before the others"

"Be patient, it will come soon" Craig smiled

Perseus and his new family were eating their dinner as they were discussing a topic.

"So that's the story that you want me to run with?" Perseus asked

"Yes, that's why making you my brother's son instead me will be more effective," John nodded "Since you already look similar to Nova, the story of you being their sickly bedridden son will be more believable, we can say that it is why you never made a public appearance"

"Well that's why we volunteered, since it will be much easier" Mary added "Though you have to eat a lot from now on, when you go meet the others, we can't have you looking too skinny, with us here, we'll make sure that you are properly fed"

"What about my tutors for practicing Arcana? You said you got someone prepared right?" Perseus asked

"Oh that would be us" Nova answered as pointed at Dabria and himself "We both tie for first place in the academy, with your talents and us teaching you, you will be unstoppable by the time for your coming of age ceremony"

"What's that?" Perseus asked

"Sister, if you please" Nova insisted

"So when you're 10, there will be a ceremony to celebrate blah blah blah, but the main events would be the arcana awakening and familiar summoning," Dabria explained "For people unlike you and us that hasn't awakened their ability to use arcana yet will have it awakened then, and as for familiar summoning, as the name suggest, you will join in with the others for a chance to summon your familiar"

"So where are your familiars then?"

"We don't have one" Nova answered "Summoning a familiar from the spiritual world doesn't always succeed"

"Not that we need one" Dabria added "We got first place easily without one"

"You will get your chance soon, you can get your chance again after graduation" Axel tried to cheer the up

"What if I already awakened my ability to use arcana, do I just do nothing as everyone else get's their ability awakened?" Perseus asked

"No, you along with everyone else will have your talent measured by this big arcane orb" Dabria answered "Mine and Nova's was white with several huge black spots"

"Is that good?" Perseus asked

"Good? Their talents are probably one of the best in history" Axel laughed joined by the others

"It's divided into green, yellow, orange, red, purple, blue, grey, white and finally black, in that order with black being the best" Nova explained "Though maybe if it's you, you might be the first in history to achieve it fully black, since you can use arcana earlier than us!"

"Is everyone ready?" A a head knight asked

"Yes, captain, the enforcers will help subdue the ones that runs away as we kill all of them and all of us are in position as well." A knight replied with a salute

"Good, now capture the ones that can use arcana alive, we will be able to sacrifice them to artificially implant their arcana among us purebloods who can't use their arcana even after being awakened." The captain ordered "That's their only use after all"
