Chapter 27: Tournament (3)
"Start!" the referee shouted
Nicky clad her body with arcana and rushed towards Perseus, her legs didn't even look like it was moving, she was almost instantly in front of it, she does a spinning back kick and misses.
She cursed before doing a front kick landing square on his chest, as she tried to take her foot out, she realized that her foot was stuck to his armor like glue.
"The kid knew that he wouldn't be able to catch up to her in terms of speed, so he instead wanted to find a way to hold her in place and not let her run around all the time as he tries to attack her" Luke commented "Those armor that he's wearing is enchanted that whenever something that is clad with arcana makes contact with it, it will hold it in place"
"Smart move" Nova nodded as he was impressed "If she doesn't use her arcana, she won't have her speed, but if she does, melee will be useless, her attack rely on speed more than strength, so all Perseus have to do is firm it, and let the armor work its magic, with her stuck in place, he'll be able to hit her"
"Very smart for his age, great cooking skills, and also looks kinda cute, he's definitely going to be a hit among the ladies" Eliza commented
"Yeah I can already smell defeat" Dabria looked over at Elliot
"I can do all that too" Elliot chimed in
"You don't even know the difference between salt and sugar" Siege responded "Even though I'm a wolf and a spirit beast, I am able to eat chocolate, but yours taste worse than poison"
Perseus then grabbed her leg and and injected all his mana into the gauntlets, A blast of arcana came out of the palms of his gauntlets and incinerated her legs as she screamed in pain, she turn off her arcana armor and use her other leg to back away.
Perseus used this opportunity to jumped in, charge his gauntlets and smack her in the face. Miniature explosions were created every time his fists made contact with her face.
She then surrounds her body with arcana again to gain back her speed and run away, but Perseus was holding to her arm and like before, she was stuck to him
"These gauntlets have the same enchantment," Perseus grinned "You should show off less, the recordings of your fights help me a lot"
Perseus then swung his other arm and knock her backwards. It was a one sided fight as Nicky couldn't move to her injured leg while Perseus was merciless and vicious with his attacks.
The referee then stepped in to announce Perseus' victory.

Perseus was happily eating lunch with the rest of his family.
"Emma, you don't look so good" Perseus commented "Did you win?"
Emma was battered and bruised, but she was doing okay as she was being healed by Nova.
"Of course, these injuries are just spoils of war" she said proudly
"You barely won your match" Lauren pointed out
"I still won the match in the end" Emma argued "A win is a win"
"I got out without injuries, at this rate, I'll probably win the whole thing" Perseus said "So much data to study, you'll be surprised at how much information that you can get from books, some of them have all their moves listed out and explained, maybe you should try to study like me sometimes"
"All I hear are boring lectures like father gives, I'll win this the fun way"
"Heh, you'll also lose using your fun way"
"What was that? Repeat that to my-"
"Stop it you 2" Dabria cut in "Save your energy for your next match"
"It's kinda cute that they fight a lot, should we just give them an early engagement?" Lauren suggested
"No!" Perseus and Emma shouted in unison "Never going to happen!"
"They even have the same train of thoughts" Axel commented
"Yeah, might not be a bad idea" John agreed
"Father! Stop them!" Emma pleaded
"If your mother is involved, I'm backing out" Craig replied
"I'd rather marry Ace than you" Emma pouted
"No wonder women lives longer than men, if they had to marry you, they'll all want to die sooner" Perseus retorted
"You know what, I gotta admit, that's a pretty good" John said before getting his ear pulled by Olivia
"Don't encourage him" Olivia scolded him

Aenon was listening in to them from a nearby rooftop. He was watching the 2 argue while having their lunch.
"Seems like he is just like any ordinary boy" Aenon chuckled "Maybe him hearing a voice might just be a coincidence, but his talent is definitely something else, the next generation really does surpasses the previous ones"
