Chapter 30: Tournament (6)
Perseus was in the arena once more for the semi finals, he had made a name for himself, some even place bets on him winning the whole tournament and becoming the youngest champion. He rested properly before his current match and he was feeling refreshed.
"I challenge you into a fight with familiars" his opponent said and even the referee facepalmed alongside the crowd
"Yo, you know, I usually don't mind having an easy win, but I mean, are you sure? You heard the rumors, right?" Perseus asked somewhat concerned at his opponents stupidity
"Well that's only because you got 2 familiars coming out at once, so their power combined is unmeasurable, and the rules states that only one can fight" he responded proudly "I got a tier 6 demon bear to challenge one of your familiars, I do not believe for a second that you can beat me easily"
"Oh my god, I'm so ashamed of studying in the same academy right about now" Dabria commented
"Hah, you're ashamed? Think about his parents" Ace chuckled
"Yeah, if I was his parent, I would disown him right about now" Siege nodded
"Well, do you accept his challenge?" the referee asked "Only one of your familiars can fight"
"Of course" Perseus answered as he summoned both his familiars "Since I kinda feel bad about this, you can pick the one you want me to fight with"
"Damn, Perseus is even showing pity, that's a really bad sign" Mary winced "He never shows pity towards his opponent"
"10 silver coins on Damon or Diana ending it in 2 moves" Axel said
"1 gold coin on either of them ending it in 1 move" John responded
"Deal, 1 gold coin as the prize"
"Men" Olivia rolled her eyes "So childish"
"I know" Mary sighed
"I heard that you are a genius, so I hope you live up to everyone's expectations" his opponent complimented him "I pick the girl, she looks strong"
"Well good luck, not that you need it" Damon said before disappearing
"Like you know, I'll give you one last chance, do you really want to do this? I spent a lot of time on thinking on how to you know counter you, so I don't like my time wasted" Perseus asked him one last time
"Save your breathe, we'll settle this through our action" he waved Perseus off as he then summoned his familiar
"I'll try to minimize the damage if possible" The referee advised Perseus "I don't want to also die in the process of saving him, I have a kid to think about"
"Oh yeah, he's dead isn't he?" Elliot asked as he was once concerned for the opponent
"Well if even the referee is taking pity on him, then I would say yes. I expected more from this fight, the last few ones was so exciting" Eliza said "This is just a one sided massacre, isn't it?"
"Start!" The referee shouted
Diana then shoots out black flames engulfing them both. Perseus just shook his head in disappointment.
< I studied and wasted my time, I'll be ashamed as the principal or headmaster of the academy he attends > Perseus thought
"Fork it over" John said as Axel then gave him a gold coin

"I'm so ashamed of him being our student" Anthony shook his head sadly "I know I didn't bet on him, but still he should at least be smart about it, we even gave him a warning, our reputation is definitely ruined"
"Should we expel him, sir?" Professor Woods asked "I can ask professor White to do it, since she is in charge of this department"
"No, just make him repeat his current year and give him extra tutors" Anthony sighs "Ones that can teach proper common sense please"

"Well I made it to the finals" Perseus said to the rest of his family
"Congrats, I guess" Axel chuckled
"I tried to control my flames, but it was hard" Diana apologized
"Oh don't feel bad, he asked for it. I mean he literally asked for it" Perseus responded
"I can't believe that that's how you won" Emma complained "He was even more stupid than you, there are always some truth to the rumors, and there he is, like a stupid monkey"
"Don't say that, you're being offensive to the monkeys" Siege commented "I believe he's even below that"
"That's a good one" Ace laughed

"Sir, we found a few of the missing contestants" Albert reported to Aenon "They're dead, their body looked like it has been drained, they have no arcana signature in their body and their blood are also gone, the enforcers are looking deeper into this"
"I see, expand more of our forces, if we leave it any longer, blood will be on our hands" Aenon ordered "We can't wait and delay this matter any further, but please try to find the others, we might just find ones that are still alive, and they will be able to give us some clues into this case"
"Sir, yes sir" Albert then ended the call
