Chapter 31: Tournament finals
Perseus took a deep breath, he was in the arena for the finals. His opponent was one of the favorites of the tournament to win the whole thing, the bets are in the odds of his opponent of 9:1.

"I'm not as stupid as your last opponent, you'll be fighting me one on one, I suggest you surrender, you might be great for your age, but you don't have enough experience to beat me" She declared
From what he gathered, his opponent is a 15 year old female adventurer, 160cm tall, light blue hair, medium length, pink eyes and most of the information about her is anonymous. She apparently have great swordsmanship and her arcana specializes in water and ice spells, and goes by the name of water princess.
"Oh my god, thank you!" Perseus exclaimed "I really don't like my time wasted like the last guy. I spent hours studying only for him to get destroyed in one move, which made an easy win, which got me this far, but I spent so much effort just to have all wasted, you know how I feel?"
"Um no, because I really wasn't expecting this reaction"
"You know what, whether I win or lose, at least I know that I know all my efforts aren't wasted"
"Interesting, isn't he?"
"I know" The referee nodded "Usually, the opponent would trash talk back or be scared out of their minds, maybe in some rare cases, just stay silent, not be thankful"
"Whether one of us win or lose, you mind if we get something to eat after this?" She asked
"Yeah sure, I'll be really tired and hungry after a fight
"Deal, it sure sounds like a plan to me"
"Smooth" Ace commented from the audience "Known him for a couple of years didn't know he would have it in him"
"I can't believe what I'm seeing right now" Dabria said as she rubbed her forehead
"I can't either" Siege agreed "I almost thought that I was dreaming until I realize that I'm not considering how bad reality really is"
"Let's not give anyone here any existential crisis now. You can hear heartbeats and determine if they're lying, right? Is the girl's intention honest?" John asked
"I can't hear it from all the way here, so I won't know, but judging from her body language, I would say she's telling the truth" Siege answered
"Damn, he got an actual date at the age of 10" Elliot slammed his own knees in frustration "Why is he better than me at everything?!"
"I should be asking Perseus on how to pick up girls now" Axel nodded as he was impressed
"I think that you forget that you're married" Mary reminded him with an ominous smile
"Well if you 2 are done" the referee coughed "To your positions!"
They then got to their positions and got out their weapons, Perseus didn't got out his usual pistols as he was planning on using a lot of huge spells that day.
< I can't be wasting father Jake's money on so many guns> Perseus thought to himself
"Start!" The referee shouted
His opponent then charged in at incredibly high speed, Perseus then aimed one of his pistols on the ground as a rune circle then appeared on the whole arena.
"Reverse gatling rain" Perseus casted as one of his pistols broke
Arcana bullets then started to shoot out of the ground fiercely upwards, with his other gun, he shoot it towards his opponent who was having a rough time defending against the first spell.
Water princess tried to deflect the first spell by using her quick sword skills to slash away the bullets but she then had to resort to using barriers.
< Shoot! He's also firing with his other gun> she cursed inwardly
She then summoned enormous waves of water inside her barrier that then fall onto Perseus who couldn't dodge the huge attack.
She then casted an ice spell that froze the entire arena, with the thick ice layer covering the whole arena, it helped blocked the attack that was rapid firing from below.
"It's still going, it means that he's not knocked out. Unless it's one of those spells that still goes after they got knocked out" she commented as she cautiously looked around
She then saw a small area of ice being melted away from below, when that spot fully melted, Perseus jumped out of it, barely scratched.
"That almost got me you know, my barrier barely held on, but you used your ice spell too quickly, your ice spell froze the water, should've let it go for a while longer as it destroys my barrier and freeze it, you would've instantly won then" Perseus said as he took out his regular pistols "Eliza and Luke don't really like it when I destroy those pistols, so I'm going a bit all out for this"
"Thanks for your advice, but this is where I win" She said as she charged in
Perseus then uses his pistol like a flamethrower as it shot out a long range of flames, she then tried to circle around him, but he also spun as he still shoot flames out towards her. She didn't noticed that she fell directly into his trap as the surface of the ice started to melt
When the flames inched closer and closer towards her, she then shot out a jet of water directed at Perseus who dodged the attack quite easily.
"I'll also give you an advice, don't use flames on a person who specializes in using water and ice" she smirked
"I'll also take that advice" Perseus smiled as electricity started to crackle at his feet
He then focused all his arcana and shoots out electricity through his feet, due to him melting the surface of the ice, there was now a layer of water on top, making it easier to conduct electricity.
His opponent got shocked but she then freezes the area under her feat, with enhancement from arcana, she jumped upwards.
Perseus then arrived right below her, and used his full strength to shoot 2 big bolts of lightning towards her.
"A human body is also a good conductor of electricity. Lightning god's arrow!" he casted as he pulled the trigger and shot the 2 bolts that hit her and sizzle up the surrounding air
