Chapter 27: Another Visit To Mienai, Part 1
(HAPPY NEW YEARS!)
(Introducing a new little gimmick at the start and end of every chapter: Chikyu Trivia! Small facts about Chikyu that are fun to know, but not important enough to put into the main story)
(Chikyu Trivia: Chikyu likes hugs the most out of any form of affection, but he wouldn't let anyone catch him saying it)
Chikyu returned home to the lodge, the Pussycats and Kota rushing out to congratulate him before he even reached the door. They tackled him into a hug.
"Way to go, sweetie! You did incredible!", Pixie Bob praised.
"That fighting style was magnificent!", Tiger said.
Similar praises were thrown around for several minutes, even after the hug was broken and everyone went inside.
For the first time in a good while, Chikyu smiled and celebrated his victory with his family. They didn't do anything particularly crazy or anything, just some drinks, except for Kota, who was given soda.
Several hours later, nightfall arrived. The Pussycats had gone to sleep already, and Chikyu had managed to convince Kota to go to bed a few minutes ago. Now that everyone in the lodge except for him was in bed, Chikyu could finally get to doing what he wanted to.
Entering his room and locking the door, he once more went up to the cosmic flower whose real appearance was presented only to him.
"Wake up", he told the strange plant.
It began its strange "waking up" sequence once again, its petals rising up and shaking lightly for a few seconds before falling back to their original position.
"Greetings, Chikyu. How may I assist you today?", it formally asked in that same feminine yet slightly masculine voice.
"Open up the entrance to Mienai again."
"As you wish, sir"
The same hole opened up in the middle of the room, same as last time and all the times before that. Chikyu did the same as he always did, and jumped down it, the hole closing up afterwards.
Safely put on the ground by the familiar neon creatures, Chikyu took the same path he did last time he came here. He wanted to find Kindan again and have another talk with him.
During his walk, he was pleasantly surprised to hear a voice that he had hoped to hear today.
"Incredible work at the Sports Festival, my boy. You showed power more than worthy of a child of a Kurna. If I had a physical body, I would have joined you and the rest in your celebration.", Kushital praised him.
"Thanks, Mom. It was nothing, though. My opponents were just weak, that's all."
"Nonsense, my boy. You were just too formidable for them to hope to beat. At least until they train significantly more, something I'm sure will happen after they saw how easily you won the festival."
"Hopefully. I want to be able to have a challenge again. It's been years since I've been able to have that. I want someone who's able to challenge me even when I'm using my quirk and my body to my limits."
"Believe me, boy, opponents that could do so are far closer than you might think."
Before he could respond, he noticed the opening to the area where Kindan was.
"Talk to you later, Mom. I've got someone else to talk to right now."
"Alright. Talk to you later, my boy."
(Chikyu Trivia: Chikyu's favorite animal is a crocodile. He admires their power and efficiency. That, and the fact that his favorite animal group is reptiles.)
(Short chapter, I know. This is just to get some of the rust off, so the next chapter will be longer. Also, I am proud to say that One Piece has quickly become my favorite anime of all time. I'm currently on the Enies Lobby arc)
