After my stepfather was declared dead due to a traffic accident, my stepfather's body was brought home by my father and me.
My father held a three-night event in our own house in honor of the late, his husband, my papa invited many brothers, relatives, friends to come to mourn as well as give condolences to the bereaved family.
At first my papa didn't invite mother and sister but I persuaded my papa to invite the sister and her mother to come to the event
"Bella, Aunt Shintya, thank you for coming here" I greeted
"I want to share our condolences for the death of Mas Arthur," comforted the mother
"thank you aunty" I said
"How's your dad doing?" ask the sister
"Right now papa is still in a state of mourning, but his condition is better than before" I said
"Auntie, how is Ade now?" ask me
"Ade is still being treated in the ICU, the doctor hasn't allowed us to visit Ade"? mom said
"I hope Ade gets well soon"? hope I
"Bella, aunty come on please come in" I invite
the sister and her mother nodded and smiled and then entered my father's house.
The event continues until midnight, many guests have gone home but some are still at home at my papa's when I was entertaining invited guests, Mother and sister came to me to say goodbye
"Son, auntie go home first," said goodbye mother
"uh aunty already want to go home ok" I said
"Yes, Auntie has to work tomorrow," said the mother
"Adit, I'm going to say goodbye, tomorrow I'm going to the hospital to check on Ade's condition" said the sister
"What do I need to accompany" I offered
"No need, you better take care of your papa" said the sister
then mother and sister left my papa's house and went back to their house
Three days have passed, now the convoy of cars and motorcycles on the road marked my stepfather's body to be taken to the cemetery, many took my stepfather's body to its final resting place, sobs colored the mourning procession, now we are at the burial place or public cemetery where my father and I are standing next to my stepfather's coffin.
The event was filled with lectures and sermons accompanied by songs and prayers from religious leaders.
A few words were spoken by relatives, relatives, and friends of the deceased present.
Then the coffin is lowered into the grave after it is covered with soil and sand by the funeral officials then on the tomb placed a tombstone engraved with the name of my stepfather and then sprinkled with flowers by the family.
Not long after, the people present in the burial area one by one left the place so that only a handful of people were left including me, my papa, mother and sister without the younger brother.
"Son, be strong, now you are the one who will replace your father, take care of your papa and become the backbone of the family" said mother
"Yes aunty I will try to be a useful person for my family" I said
"Adit, I'm sure you're a strong person, take good care of your papa and I'm sorry if I have something wrong with you" said the sister without the brother
"Yes, I forgive you" I sincerely
They approached my papa who was still sad at his husband's grave
"Arlan, you are patient, you..." Mother's words were cut off
"You don't have to worry about me too much, you're happy to see me struggling" my papa is emotional
"Don't get me wrong, I'm not a person who has fun on people's suffering, I also feel lost being left by the people I care about" the mother sympathized
"mas Arthur" my papa cried on the gravestone
"Son, auntie go home first, okay?" goodbye mom
"Adit, I'm going home first, comfort your papa" said the sister without the brother
"Thank you for coming here" I said
"You're welcome" said the mother and the sister without the brother at the same time
After the mother and sister without the brother said goodbye, I approached my papa
"Pa, papa are you okay?" ask me
"Yes daddy are you okay?" my papa is sobbing
"Let's go home, it's going to rain soon, Adit doesn't want papa to get sick" I said
my papa obey my words
It was night, the rain was pouring down heavily on the earth, the lightning was shouting at each other, the sound of thunder booming.
The next day the rainbow greeted the morning, the birds chirped, the leaves dripped with dew. A new day has begun
