As a young woman Adair Fox enters the civilization test, the most difficult test in the entirety of the Galactic Empire, in hopes of achieving that highest of honors and finally becoming eligible to meet her parents. During the test Adair acts out of desperation and uses a dangerous ritual to save her people, only to get betrayed by them shortly after. Unfortunately not only does Adair fail the test, but she also finds herself trapped in a void for thousands of years until she eventually meets up with another being. She makes a deal with the Reincarnation Machine, which allows her to go back in time and become a sorceress.

The Forgotten Ability

Once their meal was done, they unsummoned their dishes, and Cassandra brought me to a new dimension that appeared to be a lab of some sort. As she looked around, she recognized a few of the machines, such as the ones that her weapons instructor and the elemental used on her the first day of her class with each teacher.


It also seemed that she got her answer on what would happen if a bigger animal wanted to use the machines since there appeared to be identical machines of all different sizes. There were also hundreds of other machines that she saw as she looked around. 


Some of them were in use, while others did not appear to have been used in decades; after just a short walk, though, they came upon a few people in golden lab coats who appeared to be working with a furry octopus like creature inside a tank that covered a whole wall.
