As a young woman Adair Fox enters the civilization test, the most difficult test in the entirety of the Galactic Empire, in hopes of achieving that highest of honors and finally becoming eligible to meet her parents. During the test Adair acts out of desperation and uses a dangerous ritual to save her people, only to get betrayed by them shortly after. Unfortunately not only does Adair fail the test, but she also finds herself trapped in a void for thousands of years until she eventually meets up with another being. She makes a deal with the Reincarnation Machine, which allows her to go back in time and become a sorceress.

The Forgotten Ability

Since it seemed that the two of them were not going to get bailed out of this situation by anyone, so she started to think about other ways that they could escape. She was sure that due to economic reasons, they could not keep the portals permanently on lockdown, and this was pretty much a game of hide-and-seek, but the seeker had a time limit on how long they could look.


This probably meant that people would be heading down the stairs any minute to come and check up on them and since there was only one visible escape route and that was the way they had entered which was clearly going to either have people at the top making sure they can not leave through that exit.


She looked around, though, just double-checking that there were no alternate paths exiting this area like the first pyramid she visited but either they were completely destroyed like the outer buildings or were buried so well that they were completely invisible to Adair as she inspected the now empty ground.
