A BITTER SOUL

My handmaid had come to tell me a few minutes after I was done with my makeup, that a car was waiting up front for me.

"I would be down in a minute.."

I had told her.

Facing my large full-length mirror, taking a deep breath, and letting it out.

I felt refreshed,

Pasting a smile on my face together with an innocent expression,

My look was complete!!.

Blowing a kiss at my mirror, then turned around to make my way out the door.

"Oh silly me!!"

Rushing back into my room to grab my diamond-covered purse, which I had left on my makeup table.

Grabbing it I made my way out the door, and down the long corridor, of the house I had grown to love,

Which would sadly be leaving in two months' time, My wretched parents had willed even the fuc**ng house to the Orphanage.

What the hell did they think a stupid Orphanage would use a huge and magnificent mansion for?

To house some stupid kids..?

Letting out sight and clearing her mind of all her thoughts, she didn't want to ruin her makeup with a frown.

Getting to the head of the stairs and looking down, not seeing what she was expecting, her face up in an ugly frown.

Seeing Maria walking in and closing the door behind her, she asked her.

"Where is Mr. Carpenter..?"

Maria looked confused.

"No one had come here Miss, I had spotted only the driver outside Miss.."

Gasping as if shocked by the news.

"How dare he..!! Just because I give him attention, he has the guts to.. to..spit in my face.."

Penny screamed angrily at the innocent Maria.

"He begged me for a date..and didn't even show up at my front door to pick me up, this is preposterous,..!"

Her high-pitched voice went a few volumes higher, and her lips squeezed up, leaving no trace of the once beautiful damsel standing there some seconds ago.

With anger steeping out of her every pore, she turned to head back to her room, when she remembered that she couldn't afford to lose him just yet.

I would just dance to his tune for now, when I get really deep in his pocket, I would not forget to punish him for making a fool out of me.

Taking a deep breath and putting on that sweet girl mask everyone was used to,

She elegantly turned back and faced Maria.

"Tell the driver I would be down in a moment.."

Penny ordered Maria.

"Yes, Miss.."

Saying this she immediately rushed outside, wanting to flee from her presence.

Walking down the long spiral staircase which was laid down with a blood-red carpet down the middle of the stairs to the very end.

The rythemnious clacking of her crystal heels on the step as she came down, the sensuous sway of her his as she moved,

One might mistake her for a goddess.

Finally getting to the end of the step, standing up straight and her magnificent hourglass shape in view,

She calmly approached the door, and a frown started to make its way to her face again.

"Mariaa….!"

She called out curtly.

A startled Maria pushed open the front door, with her head bowed.

"Would you move your squabble self out the door…"

Penny said with disgust evident in her voice.

"I'm sorry Miss.."

Saying this she quickly moved out of the doorway and opened the door wider for Penny to walk out.

Raising her nose in the air and scoffing she made her way out.

"Lowly rats …"

She sneered.

Getting out the front door, with Maria closing it behind her,

She calmly made her way to the 'sleek black monster car, it was the latest brand of land-moving car which the rich preferred to the floating car.

It was worth trillions of dollars, that the ordinary citizen would not be able to afford it.

"Pausing at the door to scrutinize the car,...

"At least he didn't think me cheap to send a floating car to pick me up.

Resuming her walk down the small flight of stairs, and walking past the fountain with calculated steps.

The driver on seeing her approaching figure, quickly came out of the driver's cockpit and walked to stand by the passenger's door, waiting for her approaching figure.

Getting a few steps away from the driver, she stopped…

"Miss Penny, I have been sent by Mr. Carpenter to pick you up for your date with him tonight, he said you were aware.."

The driver asked politely.

"And…."

Penny inquired.

"I would take you to him now, please board the car.."

The driver said moving to open the passenger's door for her to make her way in.

Walking closer and bending down a little to get into the car as elegantly as she could without hitting her head on the roof of the car, due to how low the car was made.

It would have looked impossible to the views eyes due to how tight her gown was, but she made it in.

The door was closed behind her.

She started looking around trying to take in as much as she could,as this was her very first time in a monster car,

"Her stingy dead parents could afford one, she was always pestering them to get it, but they would always tell her it was a waste of money, and that the floating car they used could do the same work as a monster car".

"Now they were both dead, they didn't even have the luxury of sitting in one of these babies..!"

She said laughing out loud.

The inside of the car was the same as the outside, it was sleek black, with just some light linings on the edges of the padding on top of the car to give light

She felt the car start to move,

"Wow truly different..! No stupid engine sound or humming noise, this is luxury, she didn't even want to start on how soft but firm the chair was,.."

Quickly searching for her phone in her bag which was a flat glass object,

But when touched it would come on and the pouch would become visible,

"She didn't want to miss an opportunity like this, people would envy her…"

Her pouch was a picture of herself in a bikini, relaxing on a beach.
