Chapter Twenty-One:

I couldn't get comfortable in this damn bed. I had been laying here for over three hours and nothing. I couldn't make myself go to sleep. Grumbling I get up from the bed and open the door. Damien stood outside the bedroom door. He glances down at me and then quickly averts his eyes.

"I wanted to thank you. For bringing her body to me." Damien looks me in the face this time and just stares at me for a moment before his features soften.

"You spared my little brother's life..And you are my Luna." I smile at him and nod.

"Is Astor still in his office?" Damien nods. I sigh and walk over to the office door and peek inside. Astor was looking down at his laptop. I arch an eyebrow at him and step inside. I watch half amused as he inhales a deep breath and his body relaxes. He looks up and gives me a dimply smile.

"Having a hard time sleeping?" I nod sheepishly and wander over to him. He takes my hand into his. I could feel his warmth seep into me. I felt my lips tug into a small smile. Astor sighs and pulls me down into his lap tucking my head under his chin. I let myself curl into him. He seemed happy enough and worked around me like it was nothing.

I close my eyes and inhale a deep breath. Astor smelled like the forest. Fresh cut grass almost too. It was a calming smell that seemed to help me relax. I could feel myself dozing off against him.

*** **ASTOR'S POINT OF VIEW****

I knew that Freya was sleeping by her even breathing. I was satisfied that my mate mate.felt safe enough with me to fall asleep. I could her from here when she was tossing and turning in the bed. I knew that she had alot on her mind right now. I did too. A light knock on office door draws my attention. I was a little surprised to see my mother standing there. She looks at me and then down at Freya and let's out a relieved sigh.

Mom steps inside closing the door.

"I was afraid that she had taken off when I went to check on her and she wasn't in your room." I smile and shake my head. Freya was Reckless but she wasn't stupid.

"She couldn't sleep..So she came and found me." Mom giggles softly.

"And you are so proud of that." I nod my head. Yes I was. And I wasn't shamed to agree.

"I hear you sent scout's to look for Raph. Is that such a good idea?" Mom looks so conflicted.

"He's my brother. Your Son. He's the best warrior we have and we are going to need him." Mom nods as she looks down at Freya again and smiles gently at her.

"I wish Diana were here to see how much she's grown. What a strong woman is she. Diana would be so proud of her." I smile down at Freya.

"Mom?" Mom looks at me curiously waiting for me to continue.

"I don't know how to explain it..but this time around it feels some much deeper...the connection that I have with Freya..it's so much more than when I was with Amelia. I feel bad for saying it out loud like that." Mom chuckles and sighs.

"Your bond isn't one just made by the moon goddess. But that of your ancestors making a vow that they would find each other again some how." My eyebrows knit together in confusion. What was she talking about? She smiles again.

"Ask your mate sometime. I'm sure That she knows what I mean. Goodnight son." I watch as my mother leaves my office.

I close my laptop and lean back in my chair. Realizing that Feya had curled herself into a ball in my lap. Her hand clung to my shirt.

I slip my arms under her and lift her up as I stand up.

Once back in my room I try to lay Freya down on the bed but she grunts and tightens her hold on my shirt. Sighing I just climb into the bed with her. She was laying on top of me and I didn't have the heart to move her so I just laid there listening to her breathing.

'She seems so small right now.' I could hear the sadness in Aro's tone. He was just as worried about her as I was.

'All we can do is be here for her. Whatever she needs.' Aro grunts. He was a pretty big softy after all. I smile and let my eyes close.

'I.Am.Not.A.Softy!'

I roll my eyes. He was a softy. Whether he admitted it or not.

My thoughts travel back to her brother. Niko would pay for this. All of this. The council needed to know what was going on.

But I don't think that I was the person that needed to inform them...I doubt that Freya would do that to her own brother. I sigh becoming frustrated.

'Go to sleep you idiot! Your keeping me awake with your jumbled thought!' Aro let's out a frustrated growl. I groan and wrap myself tighter around Freya's small frame. My wolf was going to end up being the death of me. I just know it!

"Good-night little dragon." Freya let's out a small sigh and I felt myself smile.
