Mine; Things I Can't Change

He leaned forward again after saying it, but his lips never touched mine. We just stayed there, hovering over each other, exchanging breaths in the most enchanting manner I have seen anyone do it.

"You know," he said. "I used to think of it a lot with all the other women I have been around trying to heal. I would look at one of them and think, is she really the one destined for me?"

I pressed my forehead to his, loving the company, yet dreading it. "Why do you think the person you heal has to come to you or belong to you? What if...you were only meant to heal her but not be with her?"

He chuckled, and moved away, leaving me hanging. Seems like I pressed the wrong buttons.

"I don't doubt it. The moon Goddesss is cruel enough."

He stood and turned to the window, gazing at the night sky.

"It's another full moon tonight. It's in other words, a transition night. Don't wait up."

"Kyran." I called after him and he stopped without facing me.
