Omegas

Julian was part of the small portion of their class to not have a contest to join in. Two thirds of their class is beta, and in that one third, only Julian and two others were omega, the rest were alpha.

This led to the small openings in the events which usually involves sports. The sports were very vigorous and requires a good physical state, something that Julian, as an omega does not have.

While the others went to their training to prepare, only Julian and his two other omega classmates were left. They sat in a triangle as they introduced themselves to each other.

"My name is Count Devin of Gresticka," the other male omega said. He had a ginger red hair, paired with a sea blue eyes and a very pale skin. There were freckles on his face that were light and it looked good on him.

He was a count in the kingdom of the Gernenyard, which the Salvatores rule over. His father was the former count, but he died due to a disease, leaving the title to his only child.

Devin said that he didn't want to rule his father's land, but he didn't have a choice. If he would give up the title, then the next in line would be a distant relative of them which was a huge gambler and has a huge debt in the kingdom's treasury.

The other omega was also a boy but he looked more like a beta. He was a tall man, about six foot and two inches. He was six inches shorter than Romeo, and also six inches taller than Julian. He had a light brown hair and a pair of hazel eyes that matched with the tanned color of his skin.

"Hello, my name is Earl Pacht, from Edelweiss," he introduced. Julian nodded and pursed his lips, disappointed that he wasn't able to recognize a nobility from his own kingdom. "And don't worry, Prince Julian, I understand that you don't know me."

"You do?" Julian looked up and that's when Pacht smiled and nodded. "Why?"

"Well, my father always pressured me to become as masculine and dominating as possible," Pacht rubbed the back of his neck as he looked away. "Also it's embarrassing to be having such a title and be an omega. People will look down on you."

Julian could clearly see where Pacht was coming from. It wasn't a mystery why most nobilities would only have an omega child, especially a son, when they have the lower ranks. Most of the time, the higher ranked nobility would get rid of their children if they turned out to be omega.

This was rooted from the fact that society always viewed leadership as a role for the alphas who are biologically stronger than omegas. When an omega would rule, the people would question their authority and would even sometimes rebel.

This was also part of the reason why Julian was so opposed on getting married. He knew that he had to marry an alpha just so the power would balance out, but since he doesn't know the true intentions of the alpha, it was best for him to just remain unwed as he ruled.

"No," Julian shook his head and sighed. "I don't often go to these parties because I simply hate the fake people there. Everyone seemed to be so kind to you, but they will betray you one way or another."

"True!" Devin stood and raised his hand as if he was praying. "Oh, Prince Julian, bathe us with your wisdom."

Julian and Pacht looked at each other and laughed at how ridiculous Devin looked. The three of them continued to talk until it was time for lunch.

"Can I go with you?" Julian asked the two. "I think my friends would have lunch somewhere else and I don't have anyone to have lunch with."

"Say no more," Pacht stood and opened the door for Julian. "Let's go eat lunch!"

As they walked down the aisle towards the cafeteria, Julian could hear two grated voices screaming behind them. The voices were from afar, but it can be heard from where they stood.

"Wait up!" Gill yelled. She was running towards Julian with Lee trailing behind her. "Hurry up, Lee. I'm hungry."

"Gill, Lee," Julian's face brightened snd he grinned and greeted them. "Don't you two have training? Is this okay?"

"And why not?" Lee asked. "We're best friends even though we literally met each othet just this week. But yeah, let's have lunch together."

"Oh, I forgot to introduce you to my new friends," Julian gestured at the omegas behind him. "They are Count Devin and Earl Pacht, they're from Gill and my kingdoms respectively."

"Ohh," Gill nodded, pointing at Devin. "You're that count with the gambling brother."

Julian's smile almost fade after what Gill said. This also made Devin look down, as if he was in shame. Silence clouded over them as they looked at each other, the awkwardness getting stronger as the seconds pass.

"I-I'm sorry," Devin cleared his throat and bowed. "I forgot that I have something to do. You guys should enjoy your lunch."

The count didn't even let them reply before running away. This made Julian and the others turn to Gill who was clueless.

Lee smacked her on the back of her head and scoffed. "You're a really clueless brat. Can't you read the atmosphere?"

Gill scrunched her eyebrows. "What? I only told you, his brother was the one who almost made him sell the town to a loan shark. That gambler was sick, so as the prince, my brother cut the ties between Count Devin and him."

"Your brother did that?" Lee asked, making Gill purse her lips and nod. "Isn't your brother evil? I mean, since you kinda look alike, you also look evil but he just seemed different."

"Oh, please," Gill scoffed. "That man just wanted to act like he's strong and something like that, but he's actually a huge softy inside. You know, alpha things."

"But wait, Devin he told us that the next in line was a distant relative," Pacht was the one who spoke this time. "He didn't mention that it was his brother. We didn't know."

"He's ashamed, that's why," Lee said. "His brother did something do horrendous to their name, of course Count Devin would think twice, or even three times before talking about it."

Julian could only watch the direction where Devin walked away. He wanted to do something nice for the count, but he guessed space was the best he could give at the moment.

"Let's go?" Gill asked. "Julian, let's go."

"Coming!" Julian yelled as he followed his friends to the cafeteria.
