A LONG NIGHT

A black car driving at high speed broke the silence of the night. To infinity and beyond. Uh, he meant to go to the Grand Hilton Hotel to pick up the boss. Leaving the woman he loves so much, who just met after a week through the demands of a job that requires overtime. Ignoring the cold heart, because of the drizzle of longing.

Ryan ran to Rendra. Don't care about the ragged breath and sweat beads on the forehead. Avoid cutting salary this month, in order to realize the marriage with the woman you love as soon as possible.

"I'm coming, Boss."

"Heh, you finally came too?" quipped his boss glanced at the expensive watch on his left wrist.

"Yes, I did my best to arrive on time. I even challenged the grim reaper on the way here. Drive at high speed to pick you up." The man bent down, then held his knees.

"Don't be kidding me, okay?" snorted the handsome-looking man.

"Of course I not dare to joke, Boss. Isn't that why I'm not late?" said Ryan patting his chest proudly.

Rendra chuckled annoyed at the assistant's reaction. She crossed her legs elegantly, then rubbed her chin with her left hand. A smirk appeared on the man's face. Looks like a sneaky idea crossed his mind to prank his assistant.

Ryan's goosebumps immediately grew when he saw the smirk on his boss's face. Usually he would be bullied all out if that happened. Ah, looks like the guy is going to have a very long night. I do not know what punishment he will serve, when all humans have fallen asleep in bed. It was a streak of bad luck, he said.

"Who said you weren't late?"

"Of course I'm not late, Boss! Just look at your watch what time is it?" challenged the man in the white shirt with confidence.

"Wow, amazing! Even now you have dared to give me orders?"

"Um, that's not what I meant, Boss. You misunderstood," said the man nervously, "I just wanted to make sure you confirmed my arrival time," he added later.

"Isn't that the same? You have many reasons!" Rendra rebuked with an annoyed face.

The man's face instantly became pale, as if the blood on his face had disappeared somewhere. Nervousness now invaded his entire body.

"Essentially I just wanted to make sure I arrived on time according to your orders. There's no commanding element to it. I swear by my salary." The man put one hand on his chest, while his right hand was raised in the air.

"Alright ... since you're so confident let's see what time you get here."

"But, Boss. Haven't we been talking for a while? So how do we determine the time?" Ryan tried to give a reasonable reason, in order to avoid punishment from the boss. Although very sure he was innocent.

"Ah, you're right. Should we forget about this incident and head straight home?" asked Rendra looking at his assistant.

Immediately a look of happiness appeared on his assistant's face. It seemed that he had managed to escape punishment and could quickly return home to rest. Today was quite tiring for him. Not only physically, but also mentally exhausted.

"Okay, let's go home." The man in the suit rose to his feet.

Stepped in quickly and left the Assistant there. Ryan, who was too happy, waved his hand at his boss's departure. After coming to his senses, he ran up to the man with a slight jog.

"Why leave me, Boss?" Ryan asked with an annoyed face because he felt fooled.

"Not me, but indeed you are stupid."

Ryan's steps stopped when he heard the boss's statement. Covering her mouth with one hand as if she couldn't believe what she just heard. How could he always guess correctly what she was thinking?

"I told you before. It's all because you are like a book wide open. So, from now on stop all your thoughts about me not being human or like a monster."

Ryan quickly covered his mouth. Bring your index finger and thumb together in front of your mouth and pull them to the side. As if as a sign that he was locking his mouth.

Stepping into the vehicle after his boss sat him behind the wheel. However, it reap protests with a sharp gaze from the man.

"Ahem!"

"But, Boss ...." The man stared sadly at the Boss, trying to plead.

"Get out now!"

"But I arrived just in time," Ryan muttered under his breath.

"Then, you want me to take you home? Is it actually me or you?" Rendra glared at Ryan.

Of course Ryan will not be able to avoid the words of a Rendra that made his heart pinch. It was true that she was the man's subordinate. However, it's not entirely his fault. The man got into the car first and sat behind the wheel. Doesn't that mean he wants to drive the car himself? Yes, maybe out of pity after separating the Assistant and his lover. Compensate for it and get him home safely.

"Isn't the Boss sitting there himself. Like it or not, I have to sit somewhere else, right?"

"Now you blame me?" Rendra growled.

"Oh come on, Boss. It's been a very tiring day. Shall we stop arguing and just go home, hm? Soft mattresses are waiting for us to rest in peace at home."

"It's good that you understand. Come down now because I want to rest after a long day of activities."

The man said without looking away. His hands gripped the steering wheel tightly as if to illustrate that his patience had reached the limit.

"Ahem!"

Ryan jumped when he heard the signal to get out of the boss immediately. With a limp he immediately carried out the order. Even though his heart refuses, but he must still carry out orders. Especially in such circumstances, of course, will not accept rejection and rebuttal.

The man sighed softly lamenting his fate tonight. Gently rubbing his arm because the cold night air began to pierce his pores. Yes, he's just wearing a shirt. However, because of the loneliness and longing that gnawed at the heart, it made the night even colder.

The ringing of his cell phone from his pocket caught his attention. Glancing at the flat object to see who was calling at such an hour. His eyes widened as if he couldn't believe the name written there. Yes, there was written the name of the lover he had left in such a hurry. Maybe she wanted to protest or scold him. Ah, tonight has been quite tiring for him. Made him reluctant to answer the call and just let the ringing stop on its own.

Stepping down the lonely night street alone. His mind has been wandering the world ever since. Remembering the beautiful memories that have been passed with the Beloved. As a medicine to give him a little consolation.

His phone rang again, but he ignored it. Choose to keep going.

"So now you dare to ignore my calls?"
