IS THIS KARMA?

Rendra drove his car quite slowly, enjoying the night streets that were not too crowded or even more congested. He left the car window open, breathing in the night air might make him feel better.

He had been forcing his brain to keep thinking, what steps he should take.

"Is this payback because I often play with a woman's feelings? So God is punishing me." The voice was soft.

Rendra's gaze was still focused ahead. His lips curved into a bitter smile every time he imagined how Aleeta would behave.

That woman was really hard to understand. Rendra had time to think if Aleeta was deliberately playing with her feelings.

"Did Aleeta deliberately make me wait for a definite answer from her. Even though she really intended to reject me?"

A few questions after questions kept filling Rendra's head. Why did the engagement happen so quickly? Can't Aleeta say that she already has her own choice? Did the engagement happen because of a business, to strengthen their two family companies?

Could Aleeta be forced to accept the engagement? Could it be that she felt the same way as him? Or could Aleeta still hope that Rendra will continue to fight for her?

Could it be, could it be, could it be.

"Argh ...." Rendra hit the steering wheel and ruffled his hair in frustration.

"I haven't known you too long, but how come you can make me this crazy, Aleeta. I think I'm being hit by karma."

It didn't feel like the car Rendra was driving had arrived at the man's apartment. Hurriedly he scared the car and got into the elevator to his room.

The man immediately threw himself on the sofa as soon as he entered. He laid his body there. Covering his eyes with his arm. A few minutes later Redra went to the refrigerator. Picked up a can of cold drink and carried it to the balcony.

The man took a deep breath, then exhaled roughly. His gaze was directed at the clear night sky without the moon and stars that adorned it. He immediately closed his eyes and shook his head. The shadow of Aleeta's face seemed to fill the night sky.

"Even now you're like a ghost."

Rendra turned to stare at the twinkling below.

"Damn, looks like God really is punishing me." In fact, Aleeta's shadow is still flashing.

Rendra turned his body, was aware of the balcony railing, staring at his reflection clearly visible in the apartment window glass.

"Hey you. Look how powerless you are now by a woman. Where were you that used to easily conquer women? Even now your sweet words are bitter."

Look at the man talking to his own reflection.

Rendar is thinking about everything that happened to him during the time he got to know Aleeta. It seemed that God was making the man aware that the feeling of love was so sacred. Now Rendra is stuck with his own game.

At first the man was just curious about Aleeta. Rumors about how cold she is and how difficult it is to melt an Aleeta's heart, make Rendra's playboy soul challenged.

With great confidence, the man was sure he could melt the ice that covered Aleeta's heart. And in the end, Rendra was stuck with his own feelings.

That feeling is no longer just a curiosity to get Akeeta. However, that feeling has turned into true love. The feeling of wanting to always be together, the fear of losing, the feeling of longing that is always passionate and the sense of always wanting to protect that woman.

That night Rendra was lost in his own thoughts. Now he can't just let Aleeta go. Selfish? Yes, just say so. Right now, Rendra wants to be selfish to get Aleeta's love. Having the woman completely, made the queen in his kingdom of love.

Isn't love sometimes selfish?

Rendra had even forgotten about a girl in the past, whom he had always been waiting for. Aleeta really has turned her world around.

That morning the sun still seemed reluctant to shine. There was only a cloud of cloudy clouds that adorned the sky of the capital city. Not even a drop of water fell from the sky. Really just cloudy.

Ryan who just got out of the car immediately rushed to the elevator, pressing the number button there. He had to arrive before Rendra arrived in his room. Usually, Rendar would call him in the morning and ask him to come to the office immediately.

When the door to the room opened, how surprised was Ryan to see Rendra already sitting on his oversized chair. The man looked serious with his eyes focused on the laptop.

"I told you, Ryan. You don't need to rush to the office today, do you?" It seems Rendra is still aware of Ryan's arrival.

"Boss, what are you doing so early?"

"You really think you're the only one who can come to the office in the morning, huh?" Rendar closed his laptop and walked towards the sofa.

The man loosened the tie around his neck. Shaking the head to stretch the muscles.

Ryan could see there were dark circles in the man's eyes. And he could already guess if Rendra didn't sleep last night.

"Since what time have you been in the office, Boss?" Ryan took a seat in front of Rendra. "Did you sleep here last night?" Ryan asked probingly.

"Ah, I didn't even sleep at all, Ryan." Rendra lay down on the sofa, closed his eyes and put one arm on his forehead.

"I thought so," Ryan added. "Are you feeling better? Ah, I don't think so. You seem even worse." Ryan answered his own question.

"Are the flowers for Aleeta ready this morning? Remember today sent 3 flower stalks the same as the previous day." Rendra seemed to ignore Ryan's words.

"Tch, when you're like that you still remember that." Ryan chuckled lazily.

Rendra glanced at Ryan briefly, then closed his eyes.

"I have promised to send flowers every day, Ryan. A man's promise is not to be broken," Rendra whispered still with his eyes closed.

He lowered one hand from his forehead. Then, jump both hands in front of the chest by raising the left leg above the right leg.

Ryan looked away unconcerned, he knew his best friend was not okay. Last night he had informed Malika about Aleeta's engagement, but the woman had not replied to him. Maybe he's still in a dream.

"Can't you stop now, Rendra?" Ryan asked trying to confirm Rendra's seriousness.

"No, Ryan. I've come too far to stop or go back even once. Why are you so pessimistic?" Rendra still replied to Ryan's words without opening his eyes.

"As long as they're not married I still have a chance, right? In fact, if Aleeta marries Dimas, I'll make her a widow and take her away."

Ryan suddenly rounded his mouth slightly gaping in disbelief at what he had just heard. The hairs on his neck were imagining the reckless actions that his superior and best friend would take.

Apparently he really had been blinded by love. One word that had always been a weapon to play with women, but now ended up hurting him.
