A New Character.

The days had gone by relatively easy. No drama from my classmates and everyone stayed in their formed clique. I followed a particular schedule. Wake up, take some time to exercise as a means to strengthen myself, eat my breakfast, go to school, come back, sleep and repeat.

The only thing that disrupted it was that sometimes I stayed back later in school, in the embrace of the library, so much so that the librarian remembers my name. It was fortunate that this school housed one of the best libraries filled with great works, so I never got bored.

I tried as much as possible to lengthen my stay away from that house. Especially with the guest that keeps on coming in the disguise of business talks. I would recognize the looks he gave me anywhere. Exactly the same with the man that tried to assault me at the park and the Ministers that crawled around in the castle in my former world. No amount of expensive clothes could cover their filth and creepy behaviour.

I and Li Sicheng have been steadily building up our alliance ship. I had agreed to be "Friends" with him for two reasons. One to have an ally in class in case of offensive rumours, and it wasn't bad that he was well-liked in the class. Second, he was surprisingly pleasant to be around with.

He was very kind and didn't appear to have any bad intentions, but I couldn't let my guard down too easily. People are getting very good at appearing as a sheep even though they are wolves inside. Very bad wolves, might I add. It would not be the first time someone had pretended to be friends with me only to backstabbed me and watched with glee as I plummeted downwards.

The School began as usual, with me slowly trending down to my locker to fill my bags with the important books for my morning class. Only to have my attention drawn by the gossip flowing from the lips of the people standing beside my locker. On another day I would not be so interested, but today I was in the mood for some meaningless gossip.

"Yes," A girl shouted, only to cover up her mouth in embarrassment as her face flushed red. "Our school prince is finally here" Said girl continued removing her hands from her mouth

"School Prince"I questioned in my thoughts, trying to recall from the plot if any school prince was mentioned apart from the Male lead.

"hmm hmm" Another girl hummed in agreement, nodding her head.

I purposely reduced my speed in getting my things out of my locker to hear more about what they were discussing with my eyes pointed in their direction.

"Finally he is back. I haven't got enough of staring at his face yet. I believe he is so much hotter than the young master of the Suriv family" The girl who had covered her mouth blurted out without a hint of shame like it was an absolute truth.

-Wait... Was there a character like that?-

"Shhh. Don't let his fans hear that, they will tear you apart" She shushed her.

"He is here" Someone from the hallway screamed with an excited tone, pulling me away from the two girls conversation.

I turned my head only to see a boy walking down the halls. He had a tall build and was clothed in the standard boy uniform of the school that did nothing to hide that he was fit.

The first thing about him that drew me in was his eyes. The right side was coloured blue and the left side was an expressive shade of rich brown. He had tamed hair that seemed to alternate between black and very dark brown, with the effect of lighting. His plumb lips were stretched into a wide smile as he conversed with the person walking beside him.

His backpack still held on to his left shoulder, even with his movement, emphasizing his broad shoulders.

-My heart stopped and sped up again-

Noticing his Heterochromia made me recall a character that I had shockingly forgotten about, even when he held so much importance to the story.

-It was like the memories of reading about him were erased only to come back flooding in after seeing him-

The second male lead. I had failed to check in with my memories of the plot and had actually neglected the fact that this was your typical romance novel, and any typical romance author always loved to write about a love triangle.

And the boy that I was currently looking at completed that triangle. He was the one to make the Male lead jealous and to realize the feelings he held for the female lead faster and confess. The one the male lead competed with at every turn for the female lead attention and the love rival.

And he did exactly that. He was the biggest obstacle to the lovely ending of the main character's love story. Not even Teirrah or Eva the hidden villain could claim to be worthy of that title so that shows you just how much of an obstacle he was.

Now, don't get me wrong, He wasn't a villain nor a hero. He was just charming. So much so that even after I had finished the book, I had still wondered why did the Female lead end up with Aron. The second male lead was much better in appearance, at least with the way he was described better. He was richer and very influential even at his young age. And to top it all off, his family were the best.

With the way he was set up, he seemed more of a male lead than the real male lead.

In fact, I had observed while reading the book that the author was probably in love with the character of the second male lead, I don't know why I felt like that, but I just knew with the way she described him in her book and the attention she placed on him, but she also felt undeserving of him.

It was like the book was made for her imagining of their love by using the female lead character as a self-insert, only to quit halfway and to have Eva end up with Aron.

After coming back from my thoughts, I noticed that he had already passed by, pulling the excitement of the crowd with him.

I would have been worried by his appearance if I didn't already know that soon he will transfer to the school that the other main characters attend and once again Laguna creek Academy will be safe again. From what I have witnessed, one way or another the whole characters will be together again in one classroom.

Cassius Lutz didn't belong here among the background characters. He brought along with his Shine, Attention. The attention that will surely fight against my desire to stay in the background. Away from the light.

-And why in the seven realms did my heart just skip a beat-
