I stood in the toilet cubicle with my Phone with the Camera app opened, and its front feature Faced directly towards my chest. I had been so focused on the Second Male Lead that my brain had failed to notify me of the slight burning sensation around my chest area. Furthermore, I noticed that it was coming from the scar after various checks and sensing the throbs when I pressed against it.
"What Is happening Now? Is the pain coming back" I pondered with the sides of my mouth tugged down as I pressed on the side button of my phone after making sure it was on silent.
While I reflected on reasons as to why it started hurting suddenly, I heard the door open and a conversation pour in.
Thinking It would be awkward stepping out, I decided to wait out the conversation.
"Hey Now that our prince is back again. Soon we will start seeing more of The reigning Ursula" A girl affirmed with a sneer in her tone clearly displeased
-Ursula? What Is that?-
"Yeah. That is the only reason why I am a little happy when our prince isn't here. No more of Ursula's tantrums or bullying. We all know how obsessed she is with him. She is not even trying to hide it. She always harasses whoever gets close to him, so we can only watch from afar. And let me not even get started on that friend that is always beside her. I swear guys she gives me the cheeps" Another girl continued with a slight rise in her voice with an emphasis on the word friend.
"But I do admit that I am glad he is back. Even though we can't have him, at least we are blessed by his beauty. And not again with that. I think that she is really nice. At least better than Our reigning terror" She refuted.
"Well, I think your eyes and instincts clearly aren't working properly if you think she is "nice". She is obviously a Snake" The other bellowed out.
"Be careful with your words. You know Her ells are everywhere". A third girl advised shushing them.
"What" Her companion interrupted with a questioning tone
"Get it. Because her Nickname is Ursula. And we all know that her minions were eels, so I referred to them as one too" She responded with a playful rise in her voice.
"We get it. You always ruin your own joke every time by explaining it" Someone explained with a weary sigh and with her voice I could tell it was the one that had just labelled someone a Snake.
"Exactly, And Everyone knows that a joke is never funny when you have to explain it," The other companion said in agreement.
"But you guys didn't laugh, so I thought you didn't understand it" She tried arguing
Her words slowly trailed out before going quiet with a thud from the door. Which I assume was a response to her and her friends leaving.
Have these kids learnt nothing? You never gossip in a public toilet without checking and confirming that there was currently no one inside.
I looked at my reflection in the mirror to see my clothes and hair slightly ruffled. With a sigh, I ran my fingers through my hair, meeting little resistance that made me tug on it harder, after that, I arranged my clothes into order and walked back to class.
..............
"Bye Quinn. See you tomorrow" Li Sicheng waved at me on his way out of the class.
-He has recently got into the habit of calling my attention by mentioning my Surname instead of my given name-
-I don't think I mind though. I meant actually prefer it-
"Bye" I answered, packing my things and rapidly tapping the keyboards on the screen of my phone with the aim of writing a message to my driver informing him that he should pick me up later.
I walked briskly towards the library after school had ended, grateful for the fact that the Library of the school opens till late and allows students to stay till then.
"Good afternoon Miss Lea" I greeted the librarian with a grin.
"Ah, Good afternoon, Teirrah. How has your day been?" She responded with a bright smile that made little wrinkles appear at the sides of her eyes. Her long grey hair was braided and left to lie on her right shoulder.
"Great" I replied
"I have good news for you. New books of your Interest that had been ordered has arrived." She divulged, pushing her glasses up her nose.
"That's great" My lips widened at the information.
"Enjoy your reading then" She smiled back, her head pulling down to her work.
My eyes scanned the books on the shelves as I traced my path to my designed spot that I had confirmed to be perfect for reading without any disturbance. The library ceiling was painted in swirls of colours that slowly emerged to form little drawings of angels with their feathers spread out as they lay on blue and red slips of clouds.
It was a huge space that housed a reasonable collection of books. The library planner appeared to have intentionally gone against the standard of a typical white theme for the school library. And designed the room with brown with traces of gold in it.
The shelves were at about 6 feet to 7 feet tall, with ladders stored at the side to help assist the ones that wanted to reach higher. The air fragrance was influenced heavily by a sweet almond scent, with just a hint of vanilla. The whole scenery transported me to one of the places that was filled with good memories.
In my thoughts, I had already arrived at my spot. It was slightly covered by the multiple shelves and the door opened ajar beside it. The door that leads to a different branch of the library. I adjusted my self on the seat available there. And opened the book I had picked up on my walk over here. The cover had attracted me with the Mandala designs on it. All in all, it looked magical. And I have always been attracted by magic.
.............
"It would appear that my hidden spot is not so hidden anymore," Someone mumbled, dragging my attention from the book I read.
His voice seemed to harmonize with his every word and ended up sounding like a Musical note.
I looked up and saw the face of the boy I had wanted so desperately to avoid.
My First book Crush.
