Chapter One: Fox

'Of all the places I expected to go after being fried to death, an Island paradise setting is not what I expected. Initially, I was excited until I examined my body.

'A two-tone fur of Aburn and white, paws adorned with claws and a huge fluffy tail. With whiskers and a snout that now partially blocks my view, ending with a black muzzle. I would not call myself a zoologist but I think I'm a dog or a weird bear-like creature. At least I kept colored vision. It would suck a lot to have to live in black and white.

'Wait does that mean Buddhism was correct? I don't know much about their religion, but I'm sure you reincarnate into a lower status if you are a horrible person. Should I be happy I didn't get reborn into a bug or a gross abhorrent monkey? Ba ba ba don't think about it. I don't think it will help me anyway. '

Stumbling to her feet, she felt like a newborn fawn. Her legs were not wobbly just unusual to her. Like riding a bike for the first time, a foreign feeling of keeping your balance and understanding your limbs in a new way. 'This is weird as hell, how do I even run? I have obviously seen an animal run but seeing and doing are very different things.'

Slowly she started to get the hang of her new limbs. 'If some otaku can do it why not me.' She thought. The only outlier in her understanding was the tail. it did not get in her way, it just proved to be a distraction. It had a mind of its own and would react to her movements without input from her.

Another odd thing about her body was her size. 'My...hmm I'm a bit tall no?' The jungle is what you would expect, lush vegetation everywhere with trees that fight for any sunlight they can. Bugs and birds send out constant howls of either mating calls or warnings. In the middle of this seemingly normal jungle environment stood her. A creature that dwarfed her surroundings. She could touch the tops of trees with her nose, bushes reached only up to her ankles. The situation was quite absurd.'Why would anything need to be this big? Is it because I always complained about being short in my last life? In a society where good snacks are on the top shelves, it is justifiably unfair to be short.'

Feeling overwhelmed and a bit angry at her last life's height, she decided to try and find a reflective surface to discover what she was. 'No point in freaking out about something I can't change.'

Moving through the tropical landscape, she could spot signs of other animals and smell them...' a bit like smelling a cat person's house the difference being that I can distinguish between each smell.' So instead of smelling just the cat pee, she can put a name to each cat. Each has the same but different flare of gross. She could also see in the distance little pigs running from her. This only confirmed how big she was. The pigs that would normally reach a man's waist were now too small to barely call a snack.

'Finally.' Spotting a pond she trotted up to the water. 'I'm.....a fox.' She had no doubt in her mind about what she was, but the realization is still hard to believe. 'Why a fox? I did love that wimdy meme but I was no furry, even the thought of it is gross to me. Well, at least I can laugh at the thought that I'm some furry's wet dream.'

'Could I be in one of those reborn situations? From what I know usually, they take some fat loser and make him an undeserving god-like figure. I don't think I fall into that category, while I did die doing gods work like some patron saint, I don't think that warrants a fantasy afterlife.

'I guess it won't hurt to try.' focusing her mind, she looked for any indication of a boon or gift from a higher deity. 'Nothing yet...hmm maybe a keyword needs to be said. STATUS, SYSTEM START, UP UP AND AWAY.' After giving it a minute she could only curse her luck. 'Unless it is some kind of system that likes to wait till you give up. I don't think God gave me some op system. 'Maybe.'

'Ohhh no, I can't believe I was sent here with no system curse my luck, o woe is me. What did poor innocent me do to deserve such luck? Would be a shame if I was left to my own devices without help.' Trying for a good ten minutes to goad out the system, she had to give up.

*Grrr.*

Hearing a familiar stomach growl, she knew it was time to find something to eat. ' Moving towards the direction she had seen the pigs run, she figured that was her best bet for lunch. ' I wonder if they taste like some big pork gusher? Oh God, I just thought of something! Now that I'm a fox can I even eat anything that is not meat? No no no not possible, not even biology will stop me from eating bread. I'm unsure if humans are a thing with huge foxes running around but if they are nothing can stop my love for bread.

Pushing that awful thought to the back of her mind she started Following her nose. she felt like she had found a trail to her meat gushers. ' I feel like the big bad wolf right now ha. Should I practice blowing down some trees? Hunting is a bit exciting I have never hunted before, well never hunted animals. '

-Two hours later-

'I can see now that I will die a starving fox.' Each time she had gotten close to the piggies they would run like bats out of hell. Even getting within 200 feet they would hear, smell or see her. Nothing she had tried would elude the senses of the pigs.

'Why the hell are these pigs so damn alert?' Stomping the ground in frustration she was understandably upset. She felt like Rocky chasing the chicken.

'Fuck it, I was once human I should be able to outsmart some stupid pigs. But what can I do as a fox?' Going through the various ideas in her head she decided to try and trap them.'I once killed an Olympic athlete trainer this should be no different, both were pigs.'

Taking a wide birth around where she thinks the pigs are. she had to find a suitable place for her trap. They had run directly opposite of her location every time unless she got close. When she got too close they would scatter in different directions. A very annoying way to avoid dying. 'Good piggies should just run into my mouth and accept their fate!'

After finding a good location she had made a rudimentary pit trap. Nothing too special, a hole in the ground, but it should work perfectly to trap some pigs. 'Even though I covered myself in a fuck ton of dirt, this should be perfect for me. I would not call this idea genius but what can I do without thumbs? You never realize what you have till it's gone.'

Getting everything put together she once again tried to find the pigs and get them in position for the trap. Her nose proved to be a great asset.

Moving to direct the pigs toward her trap she felt a bit silly.'Am I so ready to change? it's almost comical how easy it is for me to accept this life. I'm unsure if I will break down and go crazy or maybe I am already there?'

Forced out of her thoughts by an encroaching lunch she started trotting toward the pigs. Sensing her presence they swiftly ran from the greedy predator on their heels. Each followed the pig in front of them unaware of the devious fox behind them until it was too late. Unable to process fast enough due to fear it was hard to avoid the drop.

With a thud sound and a bunch of pig squeals, she knew she at least got a few of them. 'What a bounty eh, I at least got...hmm ten, ten pigs. Now how do I go about this, should I find a way to build a fire or should I just crunch one? Thinking about the pros and cons she decided to just eat them raw.'No point in getting disappointed in my lack of fire-building skills as a fox.'

Opening her maw she lunged at the traped pigs successfully getting one in her mouth. With a sickening crunch, she started to chew her snack.'Wow, this is surprisingly good. Taste a lot like bacon. Who knew the fatty part of the pig would be so overpowering. Well, no need to be polite.'

The pigs understandably not wanting to be eaten were squealing and running around the pit as fast as they could. Some injured their brethren in panic.

*bang

'Hmm?' Being distracted from her meal, she could hear something huge running towards her.

In no time at all, she could see what interrupted her meal.

'WHAT THE FUCK!!!'
