Looking at the new arrival, she tensed up. A boar, the tenacious and vicious animal of her past life. Pitch black fur caked in dirt. Sporting sharp tusks, it is certainly not a creature to mess with. known to be an animal that could kill you quite easily, if you are dumb enough to get in its way that is.
Stopping its charge abruptly with a cloud of dust following behind it. An intimidating air followed the beast. The stance almost tells you how formidable it is. The thin tail swatting the multitude of bugs that must call the animal home. Aside from being rounder, the size difference between her and the beast was negligible. A few feet at most.
'I feel like I have been caught with my pants down. Should I introduce myself? Hi, my name is Clair sorry for eating your kin, I hope we can be friends. Somehow I don't think that will jive well with him. Firstly, I should not look scared. I'm unsure of his intelligence but animals look for a way to be dominant as an instinct.' Getting ready to react to whatever the boar had in store for her she started to try and look intimidating. Showing her giant rows of teeth bathed in blood she tried to look as scary as possible.
As if trying to be polite the creature rushed her as soon as she started her scare tactics. Clair's mind was racing with solutions on how to deal with the pig rushing her.'Dodge or take the charge head-on?' Given no time at all, she dodged at the last minute barely escaping the boar.
With a multitude of snapping and crashing sounds, the boar's charge seemed unstoppable to the environment in front of it. 'What are you made of steel you crazy thing? How the hell do you explode rocks and trees??' She thought.
Looking at the carnage left by the boar taking the charge head-on would have left her dead or severely injured. 'Think, how the hell do you deal with a murder pig? I have to aim for something vulnerable. Eyes? No, I can't imagine being in front of it will bring me any luck. That leaves only its legs a viable option. If I can manage to slow it down it will be easy to kill it.'
With a fierce determination, the boar continued to charge at her after having failed to impale her the first time. Waiting for the right moment Clair had to dodge and grab the boar's leg at the same time. Something that was proving to be a struggle.
'Fuck!' Having missed its leg and evading being ramed her adrenalin was going through the roof. Not only was the creature trouble to deal with the air pressure would be enough to make you stumble. It was like standing too close to a train.
For what seemed like an eternity, Clari and the boar were playing a dangerous game of tag. The boar trying to skewer her on a tusk and Clair lunging after its leg.
Until finally, she grabbed ahold of its back leg. Holding on for dear life and bracing her legs she successfully tripped the boar. With a plume of dust, the boar skidded to the ground. Unfortunately, the boar was not one to give up. Using its other leg it kicked out landing right on her face.
Getting a good hit, Clair was forced to let go. 'You fucking piece of shit! I'll eat every pig on this island!' Given a bloody nose both had sustained injury.
The boar left with a bleeding leg was able to stand albeit a bit slower. Raking its front legs against the ground it had no plans of stopping. 'You still want to go at it huh? Alright, let's go. When I kill you I'll eat your heart as a trophy.' With Clair's anger habit coming out she did not register that the pig could not hear her thoughts.
After hours of intense fighting, Clair had widdled the pig down. Instead of holding on like her first attempt, she focused on biting off pieces of the boar. Each time the boar charged her it would lose a chunk of meat. Defeated and tired the boar was left laying on its belly.
Walking up to the boar Clair noted its proud face. It did not look at her with pleading eyes. No regret could be seen on its face. 'Welp as I promised it's time to dig out your heart.' Placing her legs on the boar's side she went for where she imagined it would be easiest to open the pig up.
Unbeknownst to her, the pig had one last gift to give. Using the last of its power it swiped its blade-like tusks towards her.
Claire's eyes went wide seeing the boar lung at her. With all her might she tried to avoid the tusk. With a well-placed slash, Clair ended up with a gash on her front left leg. Sadly for the pig, it was only deep enough to make Clair bleed.
Even though it failed to seriously injure her the pig snorted enjoying its shallow victory. If it could talk it would surely be laughing at Clair's misfortune. 'Had a little left in you huh? This little cut only makes eating you more...' Clairs thinking was stopped by a tingling feeling. Her fur stood up like it was warning of danger. Looking around she found the source, a monstrous tiger slowly encroaching on her location.
'Are you serious?? First, it's this pig now this! Do I fight it? No, there is no way I win that.' She had already wasted a ton of energy fighting the boar how could she fight a preditor that stood a lot higher on the food chain?
'Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.' Keeping her eyes on the tiger she started to walk backward hoping the thing would take the pig and leave her alone. If she could she would be grinding her teeth in frustration.
The tiger seemed to accept her leaving, it showed no sign of following her. Getting far enough away she was keeping her senses on high alert. While the tiger is a mighty beast she figured she could still smell and hear it.
Still being vigilant Clair slowly moved toward the smell of the ocean. She wanted to at least try and use the ocean water to disinfect her cut and hide her tracks from the tiger. 'All that noise and blood must have attracted that bitch. Fuck, whatever I don't think I have the right to be mad. What am I going to fight it off the pig? Yeah, right the thing would tear me to pieces.
Getting to the ocean she laid down in the water trying to submerge her leg. 'What now? looking at the sun it should be getting pretty late. hmm...' Thinking about where to lay down for the night Clair's fur once again started puffing up. 'SHIT!' Snapping her head towards the tree line she thought the tiger had followed her. Squinting her eyes she could not see anything. She also took a deep breath trying to smell it.
'Where is it?' Clair frantically scanned the trees. She could not imagine being able to win this fight tigers are notoriously dangerous creatures.
*pash pash pash ( If this does not sound like water thrashing about to you. Imagine what it sounds like in your head lol.)
Clair rushed out of the water. She almost realized too late it was not the trees but the water. 'What the hell is that?' She did not see the creature in its entirety just a shadow on the water.'Why is there something big enough to try and eat me in the ocean???? Where the fuck am I? Is this some kaiju world or what? If Godzilla shows up I guess I will just die eh.'
Trying to calm down Clair made her way to the midpoint between the ocean and the trees. 'Maybe I can be safe here.' Laying down Clair had enough of fighting for her life for one day. 'Let's see if I can at least survive the night!
Tired and beaten Clair had no problem Falling asleep.
