In the last four weeks of being on the island, Clair has found a few oddities. First is that she is sure that there are either no humans in the world or they are more primitive than in her last life. Even in the most remote islands on earth, you could find some evidence of humans. Plastic waste was a big deal and you would not be surprised to find some everywhere.
Adding to the mystery of the island she has found that for some reason only some of the animals are giant. Usually, it is a predator, so far she has found a giant ape, tiger, bear, eagle, boar, and of course herself. More weird is that it is limited to one of them. She has not found any other foxes like herself. Nor has she found any more than one of the giant creatures. Plus she figured out that if one of the giants dies another will take its place. Not a few days after killing the boar another one was walking around the island.
She thought of going and killing it again to satisfy her anger towards the first one but she figure it would attract the tiger again. Unless she could kill it fast she would not dare waste the time on pointless anger. Thought that won't stop her from killing every one of them eventually.
Revenge is a thing best planned for, only a fool goes to kill somebody without a plan. Left without the ability to craft complex tools to do the job she is forced to train her body.
How do you train a fox body? Who the hell knows! Unfortunately, she can't look up a gym bro fox you-tuber that has all the tips and tricks. But she can think logically about her body. How it moves, what muscles are important, and what activities strain them. A lot of her training is running and more running but it is a start. Mixing in some exercises she hopes are helpful like pushing down trees and rolling giant boulders around. Only time will tell if any of it helps but that seems like something she has plenty of.
-----------------------------------
'There we go! Who said I could not decorate my cave as a fox.' The cave being just big enough to fit her and a shabby plant-bed.
Clair moved opposite of where she just was. 'That would be me Evil Clair and I'm here to tell you this cave looks like shit'
Putting on the best-shocked expression she could. 'I can't believe it my best friend on this whole island doesn't like my...Hmm, I need to stop this, I think it's a little too soon to go full talking to myself. I should have at least some self-respect and find a soccer ball first. Wait, those don't exist probably yet. Maybe a coconut then.
Moving to the entrance of the cave Clair moved a rock to block it off. It was hard to find a nice place for a giant fox but the cave has been a home away from home. That and finding a diamond-shaped rock that she was able to grab with her mouth, allowed her to close the cave at night.
'What should I do for dinner tonight? Chinese? No, too expensive how about some monkey? Yeah, it's local fresh and screams just right.' Usually, monkeys use their climbing ability to hide from predators but when you are as tall as a tree it's like picking terrified apples. Even If they run how do you expect them to get away from a huge fox.
Using her giant legs she bolted from her cave. Her speed has vastly improved since she got here. She does not know if it is because she is a fox or if it was a hidden thing in her past life but she loves to run. She hates to think that she has become a dog excited to go for their daily walk but who is here to judge right?
*screech screech screech
'These monkeys never learn. Using warning calls for me just tells you exactly where they are. Hello, I am in this tree come and eat me. Oh, thank you monkey don't mind if I do.' Walking up to the tree holding her dinner, she started doing what she learned was a fun way to get them down.
*Bang, Bang, Bang
Using her paws, she assaulted the tree at the base. The sound of her hitting the tree would echo across the jungle. Each hit would stun the monkeys causing them to lose their grip. All Clair had to do was catch them while they fell. A way better method of eating them than just grabbing one out of the tree. It was fun and you got less wood in your mouth.
'Ahhhhh, that was nice. The only thing that could make this better is some beer. God, how I miss being human. This is the part the furries don't tell you. They think it's all frolicking in some grass. They don't understand that you lose stuff too. What I would not give for a giant toilet!'
Walking off her meal she smelled something off. Taking in all the air she could to try and discern what was different. 'What is this blood? From what though, It's way different from what I have killed so far. '
Moving closer to the scent she could start to see the aftermath of a battle. Broken trees scattered about. Claw marks on the ground. The trees that usually would hold water in their leaves were dyed red. 'What in the world was fighting here?'
'Oh shit.' Crouching down as best she could a bloody figure could be seen in the distance. 'What did this to you huh? You who act so high now look like a defeated boxer. What should I do about this? Finish the job? What to do what to do.'
