Assassins vs Monster part 2

Doreen landed safely, but she cracked some ribs from falling and other wounds she had gotten from Gwon. She ripped her clothes and patched the deepest wounds that still were open and bleeding. She couldn't start thinking would the wounds be infected right there. She had to get away before the enemy cavalry would catch up to her.

She got up and started to limp as fast as possible back to the royal army. All her assassins were dead and she herself had failed yet again her assassination mission because of Rufus and his friends.

"Shit. Not again."

The wounds irritated her as she was limping away. She was hearing hooves coming from behind her. She hid in the bushes and waited for the horses to pass her.

"Arrrrgh. I hate this. I hate them. Again they ruin everything. I'll kill them ALL," Dorothy thought to herself in a large frustration as she was limping back.

"What the hell was that monster. That white lion. It killed anyone without making a sound," Dorothy thought about Gwon who had matched her and killed every one of her assassins.

Dorothy though thought of Rufus who seemed to be like a completely different person. The divine aura that Rufus emitted was still clear in her memory. As an assassin, Dorothy's senses had become extremely sharp and she could sense divine aura and pressure more sensitively than others.

In just a year Rufus had gotten immensely strong. The huge amount of power he emitted even still gave the cold sweats for Dorothy.

He also thought of Edward who had attacked him with such strength. With just one swing he was able to make Dorothy fly. In the eyes of Dorothy Edward also had passed her. To her, Edward had in a way become a spitting image of Rikard whom even Dorothy didn't want to fight against.

Gwon came out of the forest with one of the assassin's bodies being carried in its jaws. Rufus and the other didn't know what to think of it. Gwon had gotten much more used to being with the others and was in a way acting like a normal curious kid. It was still plain as day that he still had his animal-like instincts.

Gwon dropped the assassin's body in front of Rufus like a cat bringing a dead bird to its owner. Gwon then turned back to its grey skin child form. Gwon was covered in blood and what made it, even more, creepier was that he was a small child and he smiled looking at Rufus like waiting for praise. It looked like a child coming home from school with a test that had full grades on it to be shown to the parents to get praise, but it wasn't a test, it was a dead body.

"Uhmmmm…..thank you Gwon," said Rufus to Gwon with an awkward smile, not wanting to bring him down.

Gwon then jumped on the lap of Rufus on the black yak Rufus was riding.

"I take it back Haley. It looks more like Rufus got a cat than another sibling," Edward said and looked at Gwon who asked to be petted by Rufus.

"Shut up you idiot. He most likely saved Rufus's life just now," Doreen said back at him.

Two cavalry soldiers came from the forest. They were carrying the long rifle that was meant to be used to assassinate Rufus.

"We found this with a couple of assassins' bodies," one of the soldiers said.

"What is that?"

"It's a sniper rifle. With it, you can shoot accurately to at least five hundred meters away if the shooter is skilled and experienced enough. Even with your reflexes, it would have been almost impossible to dodge or stop the bullet," Doreen explained.

Amala came and inspected the rifle. She then threw it on the muddy ground making it clogged with mud and dirt making it unusable.

"Why did you do that?! Those weapons are super expensive. They are extremely valuable," the soldier yelled carrying the gun.

"That is a coward's weapon. It makes killing too easy. With a bow, a person reflects first before he shoots."

"We still could have used it ourselves. We need or the help we can and it is a very powerful and useful weapon," Doreen explained.

Amala looked insulted as a bowman. She took out her bow and shot with a stone arrow at a tree. The arrow pierced it and flew from the other side. She then looked at all the rest of them.

"A bow is a good enough weapon. The user just has to be strong enough."

More riders came from the forest to inform what had just happened.

"We found many bodies of enemy assassins in the forest. It seems they were able to get passed out cavalry that was riding in the sides. It seems we survived an ambush attempt," one of the soldiers said to Rufus.

"How did you know there were assassins there?" Rufus asked Gwon.

"I just smelled an unusual smell. I followed and saw them sneaking around and trying not to get spotted by the cavalry scouts."

Rufus was impressed with such a young boy's initiative.

"How many assassins were there?" Rufus asked.

"Around thirty," the soldier said.

Rufus felt creeped out that Gwon had just single-handedly killed all the assassins. Gwon who actually was just a small child whom they all thought was around the age of eight and nine. In all fairness, Gwon had been going around the grey scale mountains for years and causing havoc so this was nothing new to him.

"Good job I guess," Rufus said and patted Gwon on his head.
