The battle of the bloody rock valley part 6

The body of the god came floating down. The soldiers looked up as they had no idea what they were watching. Dalai stared at the battlefield that had gone quiet. From any soldier, either allied or imperial, none could stop staring at this one known but clearly all-powerful being.

The only ones who knew, though only through books and stories, were the grey skins. They had seen images drawn of this being in books and on tapestries. Depicting a being of unrivaled power that had caused great misfortune but also brought them great power.

A being that the founding kings had defeated when they arrived on Aesis centuries ago.

"My people. My children. Why. Why are you fighting alongside....humans. The same humans that killed me....." the corpse spoke to everyone.

The grey skin fell down, some fearing the retribution of their god if they kept fighting. Some shed tears at his arrival, some wet their pants, and some, fearing the consequences killed themselves.

For they knew the stories of this god. The god who had in his arrogance and bloodthirst doomed the grey skins to live in the mountains. The god who forced them into war and was ready to sacrifice his own people to achieve this goal. This god's name was....

"Dalai...." Amala said.

"What the hell is that thing?" Satifa asked Rufus, with pure fear.

"I have no idea. But whatever it is. I have never been this afraid," Rufus said as he shook in fear.

The emperor was also dazed but knew that Cixilo was dead and not controlling the body anymore.

Instead of throwing the giant fireball at Satifa and Rufus, Ala threw it at Dalai. The massive, building-sized fireball flew like a comet toward the god. This attack could destroy an entire village, but with just one hand, Dalai stopped the attack, and the fireball evaporated when he clenched his fist.

Dalai turned around and stared at Ala.

"Sickening...." Dalai spoke out and summoned a massive spear made from platinum.

The emperor had to wait for time to gather his massive attack, but in only a second, Dalai was ready to give a similarly powerful attack. The god simultaneously formed an armor, in a similar style as Pema, around him, but this was made from platinum and covered his entire face, making him look like a monster.

Like a lightning bolt, the ship-sized spear flew at the emperor. The emperor was able to dodge it, but it flew past him and hit the imperial army, killing hundreds. When Ala tried to see where the god had gone, he was not anymore where he was a second ago. The emperor felt a strong aura behind him. He turned around and saw that Dalai had moved faster than an eye could follow.

The god was taller than an average grey skin, as gods typically were taller than mortals. He push kicked the emperor down, who fell like a meteor onto the earth's surface. On the ground, the body of the emperor lay, as it wasn't moving. The most powerful man in Aesis had been defeated with just one attack.

The soldiers started to panic and run away. Dalai looked down and instantly went to kill all the rest. To catch the fleeing humans, Dalai came down to the surface and placed his hands on the dirt, and, like forcebly opening two doors, started to rip the ground apart.

Dalai had the earth ripple and divide, creating an opening from one side of the valley to the other. Thousands of soldiers fell down to their death as a canyon formed that was many miles long and deepthanhen than the eye could see.

The god of the grey skins was back. He had been resurrected, with everyone surprised. No one knew what was going on, but Markus did.

The black company watched from a safe distance what was occurring, as a god was killing thousands with just a single attack, with no sign of slowing down.

"How the hell did you know this would happen?" Mona asked as she looked in at the carnage the god was dealing.

"I didn't. I just kinda guessed that a god such as Dalai, who had such hatred, would not allow his soul to pass to the afterlife. After we had recovered his body, I sensed him. I sensed he was there, but it needed Cixilo to bring him back."

"So now what?"

"Now...Now we watch as a god who has been resurrected after 800 years. Stare at the forefathers of those who had killed him. And to his people, who had basically abandoned him. Destroy every single thing in existence in this world.

"Based on the legends I read, Dalai was not a merciful god. No, he was a god of destruction...And we will destroy everyone here and every other human in this world as no one is strong enough to oppose him."

Skal watched with a great smile as Dalai destroyed and killed humans and grey skin alike.

"You don't seem to be impressed by your god returning. I had you running to him and giving him everlasting loyalty," Markus noted.

Skal's eyes were wide, and he tried to speak. He clearly was conflicted as to what to do next. Markus gave him a small nudge and manipulated him as he had done many times.

"Remember what you said you wanted to do. You said you wanted to devour the entire universe. Is that still the case?" Markus said and pushed him in the direction Markus wanted him to lean on.

"Hahahahaaa. He is a god. But not my god, and I have no god now as I solely and only live for myself. For I am free and allowed to do as I please," Skal announced cynically.

A black gravity ship flew through the back of the god, so it couldn't see it. Its sails were black, and it had a body of an Elf on its helm, tied with chains. The ship was made not from wood but of black stone, and the sails were made from leviathan skin. It was the ride Caval had promised.

"I guess our ride has arrived," Markus said as he saw the ship.

"So we are working with the demons?" Mona sneered.

"You have a problem with that?"

Mona thought for a second and then answered, "Not really. Actually not a bad idea to leave this place. Don't want to be killed by that, and I still want to see everything destroyed, with me being the last thing left."

"Good. But before that. Got fetch Berig."

"Why?"

"Do you care?"

"...No."

As they walked away, Markus stared back at the chaos unfolding. He thought to himself, "I hope you, Rufus. Will survive. For I do not care do you hate me or not. But I do not wish for you to disappear."
