Jacob shook his head when she looked at him. And it was enough for her to control her aggravation. She was not mad at her brother, but at what transpired with Mallory ruined her peace of mind. Facing him today, knowing that his father killed her parents, was a taste of bitterness. 

And she was not able to suppress her inner emotions and became bitchy with the king of vampires. She could not care less.

Angeline took a deep breath and leaned her face on her brother's back, and her hand encircled his waist.

"I'm sorry, that was thoughtless of me. I forgot that you're grieving, but I wasn't mad at you," she said, connecting their mind. "I'm madder at myself."

"Hey, don't be like that," Ethan replied. "Don't get me wrong; I know exactly how you feel. You need to get rid of your unnecessary emotion."
